Please make a list of ND players from these states. A decent group on paper but we only get 3-4 guys from the area and my reaction is just “meh”.
Do a Nebraska list and it'll induce vomit. You have breakfast yet today?

Notre Dame in the Bush Gore Century is not anything near Nebraska.

Shaw is a casualty of NIL and the portal. ND admin needs to take notice... You can't compete with archaic restrictions.
Lol no he's not. He's a casualty of being a coach at a school where continued success is unsustainable due to academic restrictions and a general apathy towards the football program.

Then why not just take another job like Brian Kelly did to escape those obstacles?(minus the apathy)

6 of those started last night. Meh to Jaylon Smith, Tyler Eifert etc through the years?

Either way I’m not quite sure your point. If your point is ND actually gets more talent from out of region, how does that make us the same as Nebraska? Think you put yourself in a lose lose there.
You started the list with a 5th year senior back up safety and guys that haven’t played yet and ended with players from over 10 years ago. I’m not saying there isn’t talent around South Bend, I’m saying we get maybe 3-4 per year and maybe 1-2 pan out and aren’t replaceable. The biggest contributors are probably OL. Thank you IL for Tommy Rees!! Point being Nebraska doesn’t necessarily need IL, OH, MI or even Indiana. They recruit nationally like ND would with an involved fan base and less restrictions. And your description of Nebraska and their perceived short comings you could say the exact same thing for ND.

Nebraska doesn't recruit nationally as good as ND and doesn’t recruit locally as good as ND. But yeah besides those minor details they are the same. Good point.

Please list all these national recruits that go to Nebraska for their brand in a similar fashion to a kid choosing ND. I showed you my list.

I thought Wisconsin can’t be serious firing Chryst just for Leonhard. But firing Chryst for Fickell? That new AD ain’t playing games up in Madison anymore.

Nebraska HAS NOT recruited nationally as good as ND and they may not ever. I was just simply pointing out that your description of why Nebraska could not compete in the Big10 sounded like that of ND comparatively. Your argument that ND is in fertile recruiting ground might be true but as I stated... we get how many from the area that is what you would deem irreplaceable? IS ND willing to unload the NIL clip? Is ND willing to outspend Iowa? ND is more marketable, sure... but that was not your argument. You basically described ND when bashing Nebraska's future prospects.

Wisconsin hiring Fickell and Nebraska hiring Rhule makes the Big Ten West a hell of a lot more interesting.

Is it next year when there aren’t divisions anymore?

Edit: Nope. Did my own research instead of relying on you knuckleheads.

Disappointed for Shaw to end like this. He’s kept it classy and done a hard job.

Well that'll make the whole conference more interesting then! :ROFLMAO:

I dunno. I can't remember. I'm just tired of Ohio State and Michigan and a bunch of tomato cans.

Lol they haven’t done it and we have but yeah they could! Great point there. ND recruits nationally significantly better than Nebraska and possesses competitive uniqueness, a point you disregarded. ND has a better local recruiting area than Nebraska.

They are not the same. NDs only path to victory is not NIL, because of the above points.

You are not following the timeline of points. Someone said they can outspend the Big Ten West. So I pointed out outspending Iowa doesn’t mean anything when divisions go away.

It's not all based on NIL. But NIL can help turn a "6" program into a 9 or 10. If Nebraska doesn't have that, they'll stay a 6.
That’s my point. Get the right coach who can build a program and can sell NIL to the school and boosters.

Pretty sure most people realize all those things

Doesn’t translate to success today UNLESS they plan to unload the clip on NIL. They’ll outspend Iowa? Congrats, Big Ten divisions are going away. Outspend OSU, Michigan, Mich St, PSU, and USC in an infertile recruiting ground.
Ruhle is a smart guy. He knows he can recruit outside of the Midwest.

Not very similar at all. Oklahoma is essentially in Texas, for all practical purposes. Also, they are in the heart of the big 12, and soon will be treated like royalty in the SEC. Both work in their favor, for different reasons. The B1G treats Nebraska like the outpost it is. 🤷‍♂️
How’s that?

Ugh…. You still have to get the kids to GO THERE. Three dozen schools have money and all of this, and are NOT located in the United States equivalent of Siberia. I understand it’s hard to understand massive change as it’s happening, but it’s IS happening to Nebraska. They will never have any advantage they can make use of again. This happens over time. It happened to Yale, it happened to Army, it happened to Minnesota. All were dominant forces in college football at one time, and all lost things over time which they will never get back. It happens. This is Nebraska now. They are now in that group of once-but-never-again powers.

I’m not too worried about Riley. I think he tries for the NFL a lot sooner than people think. Arizona should have an opening soon, if not this year, and how much longer does McVay stay in LA before retiring?

Fickell to Wisconsin is a good move for both. Leonard will have plenty of suitors. Cincy becomes an interesting opening. Do they try for Al Golden? Some ties to the Cincy area due to his time on the Bengals staff. HC experience.

Since ND can sit this HC cycle out, it’s getting fun.
