Irish Breakdown on Bowen
"The kids haven’t wavered. Peyton Bowen is an example, we hear CONSTANT stuff about him flipping, but Bowen, his family and his high school coaches have been adamant from day one he’s going to Notre Dame in their conversations with Notre Dame and other schools, but the schools relay a completely different message to media folks, and those media folks go and relay what they are told without doing any actual research. That’s how you get reports from On3 and 247Sports that Jeremiyah Love is leaning towards Texas A&M the same day that Ryan is talking with Love and his dad about his commitment video with Irish Breakdown, since he had already committed to Notre Dame silently the week before. The industry has always been a bit shady, but it’s never been this bad. Y’all need to understand that as you look to buy into every single rumor that’s out there, and it’s only going to get worse going into signing day."

So IB wants me to believe their source is the Denton Guyer staff, of whom OU OC Jeff Lebby’s friend is the HC is adamant he’s not going to OU?

Call complete BS.

The Love timeline and summary is also BS.

Save yourselves the stress and revisit this recruitment on signing day. Bowen isn't coming out publicly to shut things down so either he's going to flip, or you'll be wringing hands until he signs either way.

This. We've heard this song and dance from the OU beat time and time again. He might flip. He might not. The only people that have proven to be wrong so far are the OU beat, about a dozen times since July. Seriously, brief timeline below:

End of July: visits OU. OU beat: flip is imminent, he won't visit Texas A&M. Reality: He visited Texas A&M.
August: OU beat: the Bowens want a decision made before the high school season starts. High school season starts and he is still committed.
End of August: He wants a decision by Labor Day
September: Flip is imminent
October: Hoping to have a decision by the end of the month.

You get the point... maybe the ND beat is the one wrong in the end. I am sticking with thinking he ends up at Texas A&M over Oklahoma if it's not ND.

Bowen is quoted saying he was gonna have something in August. It’s not just reports.

True - which means either the kid is truly undecided & being pulled in different directions, or enjoys playing the recruiting game. Either way, better for everyone else to sit this one out until next month and pen meets paper.

I think he is gone. Truthfully, other than the QB position when is the last championship impacted by any five-star recruit. We had Kyle Hamilton, who turned out to be a great player, but I still don't see any new championship banners. I will worry about the kid once he is on the campus. If he ends up elsewhere, I will read about him on IE when people randomly post updates of his progress.

Single 5* recruit? Almost none. 10-15 5* recruits? Most of them. Can't have 10 if you don't get 1

Five-star QB's bring in fellow five-star recruits, but do safeties? Plus, I would rather start to build with a five-star recruit who wants to be here 100%. If not, it only leads to poor culture.... see Texas A&M.

It really does take a special kind of person to go to these lengths over a high school football player.
It is interesting how tons of "ND fans" seem to come out of nowhere and constantly DM/tweet a kid who might decommit. I'm no conspiracy theorist, but it wouldn't shock me if these are OU and A&M fans posing as ND fans to make ND look bad. Apparently there were a few Bama fans posing as ND fans when it looked like Keeley would flip to Bama over the summer.

Bowen telling ND one thing has no bearing on him possibly telling another school another thing. We saw that with Amorion Walker just last year.

Bottom line is this — he definitely took A&M off his list because they are a dumpster fire. He did not take Oklahoma off of his list. He went and saw a good game and you don’t even need to read between the lines to see that they planned on making a strong NIL pitch. The people he brought with are all of the people who have been pushing him to Oklahoma. The odds are squarely stacked against him signing with ND or he would not be taking the actions he is currently taking. It’s also telling that when there was talk of “expanding” his list it included Oregon and Texas.

The vast majority of the time something plays out how this is playing out it does not end well for the school the player is committed to.

Very frustrating but it seems inevitable he flips. I wish nothing but misfortune on Oklahoma’s program. They are led by an ass clown but have deep pocket books. Hope they go the way of Texas a&m

You don't even really need to hope for that. Venables was a disaster of a hire.

His twitter likes likely tell the story.

We likely got NIL'd for our top 2 commits. Just incredible.

But let's be honest...there's absolutely nothing else ND could do here. If he didn't want to be here after witnessing the Clemson game then all you can do is tip your hat and move on.
The staff? Yes. Administration, boosters, and whoever else is in charge of the NIL collective? I'm not sure about that.

That hasn't changed in like 6 months. He could still be trying to milk every school for all they're worth before enrolling at ND.

That's even sicker. I'd rather it just be ND fans because your scenario is even more twisted.

I mean
3 if you count Dante...
If Bowen flips and I'm Freeman, I go to whoever is in charge of NIL and say that what's going on is unacceptable. Not saying that we need to go full A&M and hand out $30 Million for a recruiting class, but those in charge of the collective need to step up their game.
