Pyne doesn't have to be great... just good enough to keep them honest. The weather may play a factor in the passing game but if Pyne can connect on enough downfield shots to keep the front seven of Clemson slowed a bit, then the OL will need to open some holes. A tall order... but one the Irish can overcome. And yes... protect the ball and get a few takeaways yourself. The redzone will be crucial. Got to get more sixes than threes. And Tommy... don't get the offense behind the chains on 1st down. Please.

Game is officially sold out. What are we thinking on crowd breakdown? I don't think it will be anything like the Georgia take over but I do think it will probably be around 25% orange. The Clemson boards and pods seem to think they are going to travel pretty well. A lot of the usual "bucket list game" type stuff coming up.
There has been plenty of supply available on the secondary sites. I guess this might actually cut against a big showing for Clemson. Since travel is the primary cost for them, low ticket prices won't do much to drive demand. But the fact that relatively cheap tickets exist might mean there hasn't been a huge demand to buy them up on their end.

Any ticket changing hands over the past few days would overwhelmingly go to ND fans, right?

if im the clemson defense i would be okay loading the box stopping the run even if it ment that pyne connected on a couple downfield throws. im going to play the percentages and say that pyne will fail far more than he wins on deep ball shots.

Clemson’s D line and line backers are good enough to they probably don’t have to lose the box. So it’s gonna be critical to hit some quick slants and be creative in the run game.

And a few deep shots. As much as Clemson's young secondary may have improved, and that they attack the ball (40 PBUs as a team), they are still young, and younger corners make mental mistakes. Creating some confusion that lead to busted coverages is a must.

What stuck out to me is that as maligned as their secondary has been, they have 40 PBUs, whereas, ND only has 14.

With 30 to 50 MPH wind gusts possible…….it may be a good evening to shoot wounded ducks in the stadium. Not sure deep shots downfield would be all that advisable but we did put on a passing clinic in a hurricane once, IIRC.

I think the weather plays a factor, but that would be in favor of Notre Dame.

Unfortunately, it looks like the rain should be down by noon, and the high gusts will steadily decrease starting around 6:00.

Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants, they chose a new form for Dabo - that of a giant Sloar! Many Clemson Tigers knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you.

Just gonna go ahead & get some of this anger out of my system now..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SO WE’RE JUST GOING TO FU*%#ing run straight at them for 3 n outs all day??
My God Pyne is just horrific.. do we give this game to Angeli & just rip the band aid off?
Glad to see the O line is regressing again..
MICHAEL MAYER ISNT THE ONLY OPTION TO THROW TO!!!!
Where is Tobias????
Aaaaand there goes our recruiting class.. who the hell would want to play for TR?? He can’t develop a QB & young guys don’t play..
Our fugging LBs have no sideline to sideline speed.. it’s so frustrating.
Fuc*^ng Lenzy
Flipping back n forth with the Bama/LSU game to occasionally witness real football..
Fu^^ you Garrett.. the guy is literally giddy that we’re getting blasted
I’m turning this off.. ————————————————-
Ahhh.. feels good. I should be able to remain positive tonight now.
So how much work has Steve A been getting? He has to be preparing as the starter right?
With Clemsons D front being the best we likely face this season you have to think they get home a few times. Pyne (though tough) has been slow to get up a few times this season. I think there’s a strong possibility we see a different QB out of necessity. I just hope they have him ready.
Here in SB. Currently cloudy, cool, and gusty southerly winds. Not raining. Local forecast calling for rain gone by gametime, winds reducing to 20 mph, and temps in 40's.
D and ST will have to keep ND in the game tonight. No room for turnovers/penalties. Gonna need some luck along the way. Just hope ND doesn't get smoked at home. When was last season ND lost 3 at home....back in Weis era?
I remember that season well. I also remember that IrishDrunk was the only voice of reason as he assured us BK would turn it around and there’s zero reason to call for his firing. Wish he would give that kind of grace to a first year HC in Marcus Freeman that he gave to a 30 yr HC who had been at ND for seven years.
