Matt Rhule before O’Brien would even have time to tell his agent to inquire about the opening.
I don’t think the choice is that obvious. BOB is a good coach and now is part of the Saban tree.

…..what would he do then?

Kingsbury was hired entirely based off play calling acumen.

Be handsome and stoic on the sidelines, and....oh. Oops. Wrong thread.

If Kingsbury is fired, does he go NFL OC or is he back in the college ranks? Tasting that NFL money and not having to deal with recruiting is the best gravy for some guys.

To be honest, it's hard to see either coordinator being back at Bama next year.

“Tennessee got in what looked like an I-formation last week on the goal-line and our players actually did not know what to do”

I'm not thrilled with either coordinator. I'll be thrilled to see both of them replaced.

Christ, I feel old.

The I Formation is old school. Yikes.
Tennessee may roll out the pro-set next.

Reminds me when I was coaching our peewee FB team in a tournament. After our first game a coach from the team we were going to play in the second round comes up and tells me he watched our game and has our offense figured out (we ran out of the I a lot). I play along and say "You do?" He tells me "yeah, you always give it to the second guy". The first half against them, we just give it to the FB and we're up by two scores at the half. Second half he's told his kids to go after the first guy, so we start giving it to the second guy. By the end of the third quarter he had thrown his clip board on the field because he's pissed. Ran the same two plays all game and they never figured it out. lol

When is the CBS Contract due to renegotiations? I would think Swarbrick has a lot vested in not shitting the bed next year. I would believe Freeman will be given wide latitude to get the best possible candidate out there....

You mean NBC?

After the 2024 season, though there were conversations this summer, which pegged a contract at around $60M/year (despite ratings being down last year b/c we played no one good at home), which is more than twice what we currently get, which quickly ended talk we might join the Big Ten b/c we couldn't keep up on the TV revenue front.

Either way, yeah, Freeman needs to get wide latitude to hire an OC who's going to score some points. I'm sure he will.

Charlotte HC Will Healy was let go. Healy is due $1.5 million as part of his buyout. Not a huge ripple on the carousel, but it's an opening nevertheless.

He took Austin Peay from a doormat to a playoff team. There is surely something out there for him again at the FCS level like APSU. Otherwise there is always being an assistant at the P5 level.

Hot Seat:

Bryan Harsin, Auburn
Neal Brown, WVU
Scott Satterfield, Louisville

Jeff Scott, USF
Scott Loeffler, Bowling Green
