NDs post game win expectancy was very high leads to little change any lines. Computer thinks we won

Point spread seems to be based on UNLV’s play in the last two games which has been pitiful. Before that they were pretty good.

What changed? QB#1 Brumfield got hurt. Backup (Friel) is terrible.
Keep an eye on this. They almost beat Cal with Brumfield he’s a big QB with a strong arm who can run.
As most here know ND’s defense cannot handle a QB who can run.

They have scored 7 points in each of their last two games: San Jose State and Air Force.

The trend of ND's defense holding opponents to their season low point total would mean good things in this scenario.

The fact we are favored by 24.5 is hilarious. Hahahaha. Even if we DO win this game it won't be by 24.5.

Maybe more like 2 points if we win but I'm going with a loss. (I hope NOT *edited)

I don't think we'll win by 24.5, either.

Maybe we win by 25, though

Not that I prioritize ND Football over my family…but the season, plus opponent, plus Peacock allowed me to agree with the wife to hit up the pumpkin patch, orchard, etc. on Saturday.

Weird, weird feeling.

I usually use the bye weeks for that stuff. I haven't had any issues with Peacock, for ND football or the U.S. Open, but there are other ways you can stream the game.

Streameast.xyz (i know it sounds sketchy but it's honestly not) has had just about any football game I've needed that wasn't on my cable package. Not sure if that extends to Peacock but it's worked for the Thursday Night Football games on Amazon.

Anyways, enjoy the fall adventures with your family! I'm sure they'll appreciate it

I’ll DVR and watch later, but she’s pretty understanding about Saturdays from Labor Day through Thanksgiving. Any other season she probably wouldn’t have even asked and we’d do it Sunday…but she shot her shot lol.

I think Rees has been way to obsessed about INTs and has restrained any passing game. Tobias and Lorenzo should be tasked early with deep routes. Frankly I still don't get the game plan Rees had for many of these games. The medium and deep passing game was fairly non-existent. Then the teams load the box and we are dead. There have been plenty of chances with 50/50 balls with clearly inferior secondaries.

While I think ND QBs are not great, his game plan is almost insulting - like he has a walk-on at the helm. Too protective and too obviously so. And I think this huge restraint has undermined the confidence of the QBs. Just let them air it out.

Also, Angeli needs some game time.

ND should be counter intuitive - start with the passing game and then go to running.

Weren’t they playing well (relatively speaking) when they had their starting QB? He was out those last two games you referenced. I assumed he’d be back this weekend.

No idea. They've been spanked the last two games they've played.

That’s the theme for ND this season.

Listening to the II pod, it sounds like their takeaways from the pressers is that ND as a team refuses to take bad teams seriously. They see the point spreads just like we do & despite a physical practice week where everything looks great, mentally they think they can show up and dominate.

I can’t speak for all ND fans, but I suspect there was an assumption that ND would be ok this season even if Buchner got hurt b/c they had Ian Book 2.0 as the back up. Sadly, Pyne is not that. I’m still shocked he was rated as highly as he was. At his best, he’s been solid (I’m factoring in horrible defenses faced b/c I know his pass efficiency was on a record pace) and at worst, he’s the reason ND lost the Stanford game.

The thing with Pyne is as a freshman, scouts were going crazy over him. Alabama, FSU, PSU, offered in 2016 and Ole Miss, Auburn, Baylor, and Miami in the summer of 2017. Then his junior year starts, and virtually everyone besides Syracuse and Arizona seemingly stops pushing for him. Everyone expected him to grow more but it just didn't happen. I would assume that almost every one of these offers was not committable by the time he committed to ND in spring of 2018.

Yikes. Didn’t know that. Kyler Murray, Chase Young & Baker Mayfield aren’t tall either but they at least have other intangibles that make them a successful QB. Drew lacks those I’m afraid.

Yeah you can certainly be small in stature and be successful, if you have a big arm and ton of athleticism like those guys. I don't think Drew falls in that category.
