People most impacted by a tragedy who are poor/black shouldn't receive aid first in your opinion. That is quite clear.

I think it would be a lot more equitable if the statement was simply ”we will direct resources based on need” or something similar. The people that need help the most will receive it accordingly. I think adding anything about communities of color or any other “ethnic qualifier” is divisive.

Funds should be distributed by immediate need, period. If you lost your house or it was damaged to the point it was uninhabitable, you should get help first regardless of your color.

I should say that I'm not an ageist. I do believe there's plenty of people 70+ that can do a great job in public office, but there's also clearly some people that should no longer be there and they're being pushed to run still because they're a mainstay or an established face. We shouldn't be electing some of these people for offices at the federal level, certainly not to the most powerful position in the world. At what point does it become a security concern when the President of the United States has real memory issues and struggles with his thoughts and speech when a teleprompter isn't present? He's been looking rather lost trying to leave the podium recently too. At some point he just becomes a puppet.
