You'd think GT would be a job where the right guy could do well. Recruiting base in GA alone. Don't know what their facilities are all about.
Yeah. Good school so I think they actually expect kids to go to class and stuff. But if, say, they just sat back and let Deion be Deion? They'd rocket to the top of the ACC in no time.

It's not just that it's a good school, it's one with a pretty limited curriculum. Everybody has to do math. There are lots of good students who might not be into that.

to your point, I think it’s not as difficult to get them admitted but it can be difficult keeping them eligible once they’re students there.

I like Deion. I like him because he's come along during a seismic shift to the sport and he's playing in spaces where he doens't belong. It's pissed people off and they've said so, acknowledging him by name. He's playing the NIL game at Jackson State, so Georgia Tech would be a huge step up for him in terms of offering the brand of a program in addition to his own brand as the HC. Deion at GT or anywhere else in Power Five would be disruptive. It would be interesting.

That said: If you take him, you take call that comes with him, versus maybe giving a guy like Jamey Chadwell a shot or going to the Saban Rehab Clinic for your next hire. You hire Deion Sanders at GT, you have a target on your back before you even win a single game let alone anything worthwhile. I really don't know what his ambition is and have no idea about GT's administration.

Someone like Arizona State probably needs someone a bit more outside of the limelight. Deion could be just what GT needs.

Deion is going to get a p5 school in trouble with recruiting violations.
He's the name being mentioned for GT, but I tend to agree with you. IMO, he's always been shady but smart enough to stay in the shadows with that smile of his avoiding any controversy.

Congratulations, you basically just described the list of successful football coaches.

I have to imagine their first call will be to Jeremy Chadwell. They won't go defensive and need to find an offensive mind that makes the most of their players. They went triple option before so they may be gun-shy pulling the trigger on another unique offense, but I imagine that's the guy you'd go for if you're them.

Agreed. Just depends on who the A.D. is making the hire, but if it is me, I'm trying to get Chadwell.

He ran into some NCAA violations at Charleston Southern but that goes back over five years now. I don't know how much that's going to be held against him. His tenure at Coastal Carolina doesn't appear to have any serious incidents there.

Georgia Tech plans to hire a new athletic director before hiring a football coach, interim AD Frank Neville said Tuesday, one day after coach Geoff Collins and AD Todd Stansbury were fired.

Georgia Tech president Angel Cabrera read from prepared remarks Tuesday morning but did not take any questions and left before comments from Neville and interim head coach Brent Key. Before Cabrera left the news conference he said, as a Georgia Tech alum, “This is personal for me.”
This is the logical way to do things.

Campbell and Leipold face each other next week in the Nebraska Coaching Search Bowl. Iowa State a big game vs Baylor this week while KU has Duke. One of them 5-0 after 5 weeks? Then have TCU and Kansas State, do I hear a 6-0 for either?

Unlikely but not ridiculous.

Kansas wins the Nebraska Bowl. Lance Leipold and KU is 5 - 0.

Former ND OC, Mike Sanford; has been named interim-HC at Colorado after Karl Dorrell was fired.

I think Leonhard would potentially be a mistake. Defensive recruiting has not been good. He’d have to really sell a plan for the offense moving forward to convince me to give him the job. Wisconsin has 4 total 4 star guys on defense on the entire roster. Leonhard is a good DC. But he’s not Jesus. He can’t just turn diamonds in the rough into dominating 3 year starters indefinitely. The defense is not elite this year. I’m not too sure how good it even really is. Schedule gonna get tougher in the future of the B1G. Potentially no B1G West division to trumpet. Wisconsin has a tough question on what their true ceiling and floor is.

Pretty full circle moment that Bielema going into Camp Randall and winning like they did is what got Chryst axed.

Wisconsin boosters have to make Aranda say no and then move onto considering Leonhard, Leipold etc. Aranda is his own tier in this search IMO though.

Bielema will forever be above Chryst in the record books. Bielema second, Chryst third in all time wins.

Why would Aranda leave Baylor for Wisconsin? Wisconsin could very well go the way of Nebraska.
