Christian Gray on Love:
“Oh my gosh. He’s coming to Notre Dame; I feel it for sure! His parents love it there. He loves it there. His mindset connects with Notre Dame. You want to tell him and show him that, but he has to see it on his own. That’s what happened to me.”

Any news on Love's commitment date or whether he's reached a final decision now that his visit to A&M is over? I feel good about this one, pretty sure he's Irish I just expected some kind of movement by now I guess.

Ryan Roberts put up an update on IB this morning, but since it's premium info I won't post it. Shaun Davis said during the IB recruiting hour today with Ryan that he still feels good that Love ends up at ND. He said Christian Gray, another STL native who has been working hard on Love, has been telling him (Davis) for 3 weeks that Love is coming.

I feel like ATM is going to implode at some point and it's going to be awesome. Too many drills in the oil well over there. Eventually we're going to drink their milkshake.

I think they will implode too.

I don’t know how ND is going to do. We will have to see. So far we are 1-2

Considering how strong of a favorite ND is in his recruitment, I figured the visit was basically a formality, just him making sure he checked off the boxes prior to committing. I at least expected a commitment date by now (technically I expected that to happen before the A&M visit even happened). Initially it appeared like Love may be committing right after the Marshall game so I'm just wondering what the hold up is.

Quite a few people thought this would be wrapped up by now, it's not just me lol. The video Dale linked above in this thread gave me some insight into what's going on though.

Did you watch any of the first 3 games we played?

Recruits can look at it in two ways:

1) Their offense is shit.

2) Their offense is shit, but both quarterbacks that played started their first career games this season, so there is nothing but room for improvement. AND that the offensive cupboard is bare. I see freshman minutes!

And before anybody brings up Merriweather and him not seeing snaps despite an open wide receiver room (as a deterrent for Love) - he will get his snaps. We are three games in. If it takes until Week 6 before he's regularly on the field, then it takes until Week 6.

Love does not have any more visits scheduled. He just wrapped up his A$M visit, and will do his due diligence post visits regarding his decision It's literally Tuesday - two days post A$M visit. I wouldn't be surprised if he announces a commitment date in the next week or so.

ISD had a brief article saying they’re starting to lose confidence, but they’d still pick ND at this point. They also mentioned looks like he could visit some other schools still before deciding.

Recruiting in general seems to be on a downward trend.
Well, I mean, croots have now watched us play for three weeks. That’s bound to dull some shine. The charisma and recruiting chops go a long way, but you still have to get it done on the field to seal things up.

Maybe about the inexperience the staff is showing. Just got to tread water while the staff gets better.
I think if you look at the talent in our sophomore, freshman and incoming '23 classes, you can see a future that looks a lot better than what we've shown the first three games of this season. Hopefully our recruits are savvy enough to see that too.
Frankly that's a lot more relevant to their career than the fact that we have no experienced WRs who are any good and Drew Pyne is our best available quarterback right now.
