So, does that mean that maybe Freeman had more to do with the terrible play calling against Marshall? Funny that I've been operating under the guise that it was Rees with autonomy over the offense and the atrocious play calling on 2nd and long that game. Maybe that was Freeman F'ing that up. That sure would be something.

It would make some sense, because that was just beyond the pale. Everything about it was wrong and/or done in the worst way possible.

I've gotten a little worried about Freeman mandating a conservative offensive philosophy.

If this ship is not corrected, coaches are losing jobs. Seems like some of these are important details.

Guess depends on when it happened. We came out throwing the ball and did nothing on our first 5 possessions. It wasn’t until we started running that we had success.

I remember him yelling when we got behind the sticks due to penalties or some Pyne BS or both in the 1H to just run the ball in a context that the drive was lost at this point so just run it because of the mistakes.

Never said details weren’t important, it’d argue continuing to gather more is important. I find it interesting to think we can go from passionately Rees needs to be fired to oh Freeman might be the problem with a few morsels of info. If anyone can flip an opinion that quickly, maybe one or the other or both are a rush to judgment.

I wouldn't categorize the fact that our HC just said he's pushed playcalling on the "struggling" OC who was supposed to have autonomy as a small morsel of info. But, too each their own.

Considering the circumstances I think it's extremely relevant.

Freeman’s title is Head Coach, if anyone is under the assumption Rees was literally going to operate with 100% autonomy at all times, that’s insane. Especially after the Parker hire how many months ago, if the bubble really needed to be popped.

I find some of this stuff, interesting I guess, relevant sure. My issue isn’t really with the info as much as the rush to judgment based off said info. Never called any details irrelevant or unimportant.

Haha, I missed the part where you told us, in advance, that Freeman was going to be dictating playcalling to Rees "in-game", lol.

Dude, get off it. If you don't want to be involved in the discussion then just ignore. Me and others are discussing it. Don't need you trying you telling us what should and should not be important to discuss.

Again, never called anything unimportant. Never called anything irrelevant. I said the quick judgements is kinda something. We’re in Week 4 of a brand new HC for the first time in 10+ years.

Gotcha, I’ll bow out, everyone fire everyone again and make sweeping statements about the #FreemanEra

It did seem quite dysfunctional and extremely odd in review.

Mainly because it's certainly not how Rees was brought up. Rees as a QB was back when Kelly sent in two play calls at a time. And, it was up to the QB to get into the right one based on numbers in the box. Rees was very good at that which allowed him to play well above his talent level. I was rather shocked post game to see all that analysis. This would make more sense that maybe that was taken from him to some degree.

The weight of the world on MF’s shoulders. Honeymoon is over. Pressure to get win #1 at Mt. Everest peak. I can see why he was desperate to run…wanted that clock to hit 0 as fast as humanly possible. Didn’t need a Pyne pick to ruin it.

I appreciated his comments. I appreciated TR speaking up as well. Signs of a good relationship. TR doesn’t have BK to protect him. He needs MF to succeed.

I’ll chalk up missing out on a QB transfer this past summer as an over confident, young staff with misguided belief in their own guys. I think the lesson has been learned. If they can scratch out 7-8 wins, I’ll be happy and excited for the off-season.

MF is wearing a headset. I think it's shortsighted to think he's not going to be offering opinions during a game. He might give Tommy autonomy in putting the game plan together, but being the HC he's going to have some say in what's happening during the game. The key here is MF listened to Tommy and acknowledged that Tommy was right. That is probably a big step in MF becoming more comfortable and confident in Tommy's ability to call plays.
