I mean if you were on the board for a while you would have seen when he was here the first time everyone agreed the only other job he would have taken was with the Bears. And then he did take that job. And while having that job, he still lived in South Bend. That’s a nice tale.
They have better coaches and higher expectations.Bama probably has a new oline coach every year and they probably always play at a high level so they what’s the go?
No way.Spoke to a guy who knows the coach that does something with the defense for Marshall said our offensive line was soft.

They do have better OL talent than just about everyone. It would be easy to have a revolving door at that position. Between recruits and transfers over the last 4 years it looks like they've had about 13 four stars and 3 five stars come in during that period with just a couple 3 stars.Bama probably has a new oline coach every year and they probably always play at a high level so they what’s the go?
any OL with Correll in it is giving up physicality from the get goSpoke to a guy who knows the coach that does something with the defense for Marshall said our offensive line was soft.
Yes the sooks should get weed d out.Need the old Harry back pronto, crack the whip.
My point though is their oline never seems to be far below what it should be. Whereas NDs is on the reg. They do have better OL talent than just about everyone. On the regular seems a bit strong. It's really just been the last two years. We've also had 13 four stars recruited in the last 4 years, but no five stars and a number of those certainly haven't hit their potential yet. Alabama does often have a revolving door of assistants and position coaches, but they also have the best talent to work with year in and year out. I don't think we've seen any of Saban's rehabilitated coaches really struggle in that environment. My point though is their oline never seems to be far below what it should be. You bring up a good point with COVID. 6th year options aside, I wonder how much development has been hurt with illnesses, long COVID, reduced workout schedules due to lockdowns? There could be other factors that have led to the OL's struggles the last two years.Alabama’s OL the last two years is below what it should be. Not the best example. There is no excuse for the drop off ND has had, but OL can definitely be a fickle group to get right and stay right. Wisconsin, Iowa other traditional powers having issues.
COVID I think is partly to blame for certain teams. You have old ass dudes that are very good in some cases. You have old ass dudes taking up spots in others. You have older DL than usual etc.

What is he smoking? We don’t have the best line and it’s not close. Quit saying it.

I can’t find the complete interview with him but I highly doubt a reporter is going to lie in a tweet.
“We have the best offensive line coach in the country”
“We don’t have the best line and it’s not close”
He was talking about Hiestand not the line itself.
I'm not qualified to make a ruling on OL coaching but it seems like our Pro-Bowl selected olinemen in the NFL who claim that Harry is the best, should at least be worth a few points for Harry, right?I still don’t believe that. From HH’s first time he was here. He was part of the problem for not getting enough line in 18. He might be good but the best is just not true.
Irish Illustrated also mentioned hearing about Carmody making a push hereOne thing if we really want to get weird with hypotheticals that won’t happen is I’m wondering if you consider instead of the obvious:
Alt - Kristofic - Patterson - Spindler - Fisher
suggestions if they focus on the interior and consider:
Alt - Fisher - Patterson - Kristofic - Baker
Is that not 3 spots you’re confident in, 1 spot we should be okay with and one a question mark but I saw more praise for Baker than Spindler over the summer. You’d have a run game at least.
