Leeds United has so quickly attracted a massive following in the US that the match today with Brighton bumped Chelsea vs Leicester off of USA.

don't know if anyone follows college soccer and cares but our 4th ranked mens irish soccer team choked in the season opener at home against unranked Seattle U losing 3-1. they started last season badly and recovered to go on and win the acc post season title and in the playoffs advance to the final four and so hope is not lost with this young team but have still have to make some major improvements within the next few games before conference play starts

Good to see Newcastle spent all this money to just continue to draw everyone in the league again

Not only is Heechan tits on a boar on offense but on the backfoot serves up the assist. Wolves would be better playing ten men then that worthless piece of shit.

ManU pay 100mil for Antony (Ajax). Another winger….

Gotta say I didn’t see Maguire getting decaptained and benched for what they paid for him but it was 💯 % the right move.
Fee is to high I agree. But they have little depth so this is the signing they need. Especially if CR7 goes. Sancho is more effective off the left. 84 million pounds is the fee.
If the Glazers weren’t so reactionary to the protests and would’ve went for him earlier in the summer I think they would’ve got him for roughly 60 which is probably a reasonable fee.
23 years older with great potential and a Brazilian.

Happy with the signing. Im glad the glazers are getting punished. Hopefully this time next year they will be out of the club.

So the former Ajax manager is recruiting former Ajax players, one of whom has never scored more than 9 goals in an Eredivisie league campaign.

Does Man United not have scouts?

they are paying 4 times what Bayern paid for Gravenberch, who was a younger and better player for Ajax. Different positions I get that, but insane.

Bayern and Real are run a step above the rest of Europe. Liverpool and City probably have a large step in management over the rest of the premier league elite. City got a steal in Harland for ~50-60 million, and everyone else is panick buying worse players for significantly more, only widening the gap.

Haaland had a release clause so a bit different. He’s also on 400K a week so that does drive the price up a bit. But yes waiting until the last week of the window does increase the costs of players.

I don’t think any United fan would disagree that the club is being mismanaged.

I'm pretty sure they all quit about six months ago because they weren't being utilized properly.

Pulisic seems like he really is being held hostage by Chelsea. They don't seem to be open to loaning him or selling him for fair market price and there is a never ending cycle of wingers being linked to Chelsea in transfer rumors. They want to keep him but play him 10 mins per game? For a 23 year old nearing prime.

Nevermind Gravenbach:

They're going to keep spending money and crater again in the standings. That would be my bet.

Good for AJAX tho bc yeah,… the Real’s always outspent to win but the drastic difference between the top ten global spenders and everyone else is just beyond dumb now,…

It would seem to be the case. Paying incredible fees for Real and Ajax players is just more papering over the cracks, in addition to getting results and not really playing well.

And Europa League can suck the life out of a club's season too.

It seems like there was a lot of overspending this transfer window.

I'm hoping Ronaldo can leave before the window ends. Antony is pretty much taking Greenwood's spot, as we need some rotation because Rashford and Martial cannot stay healthy if they play 50 games this year. I think you'll see Rashford up top a little bit more than the past few years.

Chelsea, Forest, Newcastle, United, Barcelona, West Ham and Arsenal were the clubs in Europe who had negative balances over $100M.

Bayern spent $151M but brought in $105M. City made a profit of about $42M. Mind you, this is just transfer fees. The wages these guys are getting are crazier than the transfer costs.

This all feels like everyone else is a farm system for the English Premier League. You have City and PSG still chasing the Champions League. There's no stopping it now that FFP proved to be a complete farce.

Haaland is inevitable
Someone needs to explain to me how can you have one of the best strikers in football, give him 5 yards either side and let him straight through from one pass? He's running between two defenders with tons of room saying "give me the ball". What the hell was Palace doing?

City's third goal, that pass from KDB, good lord.

My impression of City early on is they are a bit leaky in the back and some of these mid table teams should see what Newcastle and Palace (without Zaha) have done as the blueprint. Have a go at them and show them a proper amount of respect, but not to the point of fear. That said, they're going to score.

Same goes for Liverpool. I think plenty of teams can have a go at them, especially if you have Liverpool at home. Anfield you just have to be brave and dig in. Beating a team that is likely going to be relegated papers over what was a terrible effort a week ago at Old Trafford no less. They really looked like they didn't give a shit they were playing a rival who had just lost to Brentford in a thrashing. That is still a concern for them and for everyone else, give them a punch in the mouth when it's your turn.

Last year and two years ago for sure, Arsenal lose that Fulham match. Another team that has Europa League to deal with. How seriously they take Europa League could determine their season.

This second paragraph is my feelings,… I keep hoping to see some other league become the playground of the rich to balance it all out a bit,… I don’t see any other realistic option to fix it

They're on six points. Last year they didn't get to six points until the end of November.

I think they can compete for Top 6 this year.

Bournemouth sacks Scott Parker.

Lost to Arsenal, City, Liverpool in their first four games and they're still not in the relegation zone.

English Premier League is getting a bit too crazy for my blood.
