I haven't been able to watch much EPL this year. However, I've read that Van Dijk has been less tan stellar. Is that actually true? His 80% is better than 90% of defenders in the league, but Milner seemed to let him have it yesterday after the Sancho goal.

Also, even though Fernandes plays on the team I root for, I would hate him on any other team. Any one who talks shit about him diving or being a twat is 100% accurate.
Id say he has been less than good but to be fair he has had three different CB pairings in 3 games. Gomez is terrible at CB. He needs to go. Konate and Matip are both injured leaving Nat Phillips who I actually like but he isnt athletic enough to play a high line with VVD. He had an atrocious game yesterday though 4/10. No reason for him not to get after Sancho on that goal. He rightfully got chewed out by Milner for that one. Seemed like Milner was going at him all game as well.

I don't watch enough Liverpool for this to be a full on serious take, but I'd be curious to see TAA as a CDM rather than RB in some scenarios (assuming they had a competent RB besides him on the roster). Liverpool's midfield is slow as molasses. All his strengths could still be utilized there and he'd provide some serious cover.

Looked like one of their few bright spots on Monday. He's injury prone, but when he was fit a few years back he was in the England squad.

Also, appears Newcastle are signing Isak. This all feels like La Liga is financing the Premier League at this point. Maybe it's just this on the back of the Casemiro deal, plus Auba's potential move from Barca to Chelsea.

Ukrainian Premier League started back up.

I looked at the lineups for this match and am surprised to see an Englishman and Brazilian in the lineup for Lviv. Much respect to them.

Meh.... I dont rate him at CB. There is a reason he hasnt beaten Konate or Matip out. He was out of position a good many times in that game.

Van Dijk stood there 5 feet in front of Ederson with his hands behind his while Milner slid in at 100 mph, missed the ball, and Sancho proceeded to take another 2-3 touches while Van Dijk was still just standing there.

Somebody rates him. They signed him to an extension last month. He's had some very random injuries. Fluke ones.

Matip was healthy most of last season so I don't know what monkey's paw they used for that to happen but that borrowed time is probably over with.

That Konate is a unit. I think he's going to be a real monster down the line.

One thing is for sure, above average CB for the Premier League are not easy to come by on the transfer market. What LFC paid for van Dijk set the world on fire, as evidenced by what United paid for Maguire.

It was bizarre. They all looked passive for most of that match. They've looked kind of passive going back to last year. 63 matches played last season. Might be a hangover.

Newcastle cut through City at times like piss through snow, but that was more them than City being passive, and City still fought back to get a 3-3 draw.

All of it still adds up to Man United being garbage.

In any case he is CB4 and RB2/3. Regardless....all that matters is what I think lol :)

He can play across the entire back four. That's a good option at age 25. If they can keep him fit.

Liverpool has four players on this squad who have contracts up at the end of the year. Three of them are center mids, all injury prone. For an analytics club, I'm kind of surprised they've let things get to this point.

England teams dominate the list with 7/10. 3 of them are English to English. This doesn't include the two players that City sold to Arsenal, which brings me to a point....

I am wondering if maybe the Premier League is going to start to see the top table teams dealing with each other due to the flux of money. City selling players to Arsenal and Chelsea just seems a bit odd.

Yeah, I've noticed the top 6 have been selling more to each other moreso the last few windows (last summer, winter, this one) than before. Your point makes sense.

Also, Bayern made out like a bandit for only paying £59.6 million for de Ligt (we all know City hardly paid anything for Haaland).

Is that because wages have limited who clubs can deal with?

I think that's a big thing. The higher the transfer fees go, the less amount of teams there are to afford it. It really leaves 5-6 teams in England, Real, Barca, Juve, PSG and may one/both of the Milan clubs. These teams can easily spend close 100 million euros or more yearly.

Juve lost all its leverage once Chelsea dropped out of the race and MDL made it clear at that point he only had eyes for Bayern.

Nah, all the Italian teams are broke atm... The only free spenders outside of EPL are basically Real Madrid, Barcelona (fucking how considering they can't even pay their players), and PSG...

Nottingham Forrest...

Manchester United supporters can't be mad when it comes to spending money. They're doing it.
I'm definitely not mad. However, it's looking more and more likely that there will not be much to spend next summer. It'll be low key and get some of the academy players in the first team. United's big thing is getting massive wages off the books, which they did this summer (with exception to Ronaldo). That is typically how you can tell how much they will spend.

Following them domestically I’m really stunned at how well those hun pieces of crap have done in Europe this past year,… it’s crazy a team that can’t beat Hibs can get up and beat PSV a few days later and they been doing this stuff all year

And now United are going to buy Antony for close to 100mil. This is wasteful spending, even if they get Ronaldo out this summer.

A student today found out I was a Celtic and Newcastle fan and immediately got all worked up because ‘Celtic is a history club with no money and Newcastle is an oil team that just buys players and just buying players ruins the sport!!’

I respond, ‘Okay, who is your club?’

‘Real Madrid’

They just don’t fucking lose in Europe. It’s frustrating, after making the Euro final last year. Guarantee they outperform Celtic in the group stage this year too.

They’ll get the best draw possible while Celtic gets something like PSG, Liverpool, Inter,…

I hope the American kid at Rangers gets sold ASAP. And I hope Pulisic is loaned or sold out of Chelsea.

FTR I’m not complaining but I didn’t realize net spending is 2% of the revenue. Lol. Maybe bumping that up to 5% and we might a few more titles.

Things could be, and have been, a lot worse for those guys. The two American Cowboys before this current ownership group nearly ran that team into the ground.

At this point, I think most supporter groups are just waiting for the next Sheik or Chinese Consortium to walk into their personal gin joint and bring them to glory.

The Russian Oil Guy motif is on pause for a bit.

Personally I am waiting for a drug Cartel to buy Liverpool. Little bit more respectable than other owners.
