With ND contemplating joining the B1G, can we use some of that extra 75 mil a year from the TV contract to spice up our NIL package to him? Kinda kidding... Not really though.

I don't care where the kid ends up to be fair.
End of the day kid is gonna do what he believes is best for he and his family.
If he decides that's at ND sweet Go Irish.

Otherwise
Train keeps a rollin all night long.

I'm confused why people keep posting messages assuming he might still come to ND. Dante is definitely not coming to ND. That ship has sailed. It's sad that so many fans actually still think this.

And yet we all still come to this thread every time it's on the front page. It's the ND fan equivalent of an old person who checks the weather forecast everyday. Stranger things have happened. I still give ND an arbitrary 10% chance. " So you're saying there's a chance!" Can this thread be renamed to the Dante Moore Saga?

Was reading that Michigan has yet another QB in the 2025 class. This one is by all accounts even better than Dante. Bryce Underwood. Should be the #1 overall player. We offered.

I think the reason people still think there’s a chance is because every other option seems to have moved on in some fashion. Where is left? It’s us or Oregon.

Dante seems like a very nice kid and a great student. I have nothing bad to say about him.
This is where I choose to leave it. I think everything else at this point is speculation, projection and or horse shit.

At this point, if there was a remote chance he signed with ND in the end, I would find it to be tremendously hilarious. It would certainly appear like the odds of that happening are incredibly slim, but this recruiting business has been anything but predictable and short of surprises.

The only reason that anyone holds out any hope was the “news” that Dante supposedly said if he had to do it over, he would’ve just chose ND. The assumption is that the relationship is too fractured to get there, but who knows.

Or NIL money passed to CJ?

Agreed. I was going to throw that in there, but eventually chose not to. Even if they weren’t passed on to CJ, people who were potentially willing to put up big NIL money for Dante originally, may have lost some enthusiasm in the process. Those big NIL opportunities may not be there anymore.

MF is such a bad guy. I can see how Mante Doore would have a falling out with him.

There has to be a reason he hasn't pulled the trigger on Oregon. He's still questioning his life decisions.

The kid obviously takes this stuff seriously. Maybe too seriously, tbh.
I still buy the “Dante wanted ND but Dad saw dollar signs and so they shopped around and eventually overplayed things” storyline.
At this point Oregon makes most sense but if he winds up with us OK I won’t object.

You don’t turn down a 5* QB because of the money. FUND would pay both.
Bingo. No coaching staff in their right mind would do this, especially THIS one. I just don't see it being the case.

So ND offered over a mill and Oregon simply paid more. Choosing simply over highest bidder is a bad choice. A mill + ND degree + a team full of dudes. I mean Nike is fine and whatever but I’d never leave my job in Michigan to work at Nike. I’m rooted, my family is here, and unless the yearly income was absurdly high, what’s the point. Even then I’d say nah and stay put. It would take millions per year for me to leave my family, home, community, friends, etc to uproot my life to the rainy pacific NW. Were the Moores unemployed? Or do they just think it’s cool to say they work at Nike? My bet is the latter and nobody in Eugene will think working at Nike is super cool. Just like nobody in Detroit thinks it’s super cool to work at Ford. I think this is a bad choice on their part, made simply over highest amount, what benefits not Dante, but his fathers pride and perceived inadequacies in life, and one Dante will come to regret in time. A million+ at ND is life changing. Anything more and you’ll never settle, never be content, never be loyal. If he’s offered more after some success in Eugene, dad will tell him to transfer. ND is building something special right down the road from him, where his family is, and they offered a pretty penny, and he admitted he wanted to go to ND. This reminds me of some kind of Michael Jackson story.

Is Dad going to live in Eugene but work remotely for Nike? Nike doesn't have offices in Eugene, just in Portland (2 hours away).

The backstory is that the Carr family got assurances that CJ COULD reclassify. They got this assurance so CJ could have ND any way he wants. Meaning, by giving an option to reclassify to the Carr family, it clears the decks for CJ of Dante and any other Top 100 QB.

It is no coincidence that just before the announcement Dante stopped lining up his summer visit. There were also analysts who criticized Rees for taking the sure thing too soon in his recruiting. Dante isn't concerned with a 2024 QB except one that could reclassify to 2023 and was supposedly Rees's #1 QB on all Class Boards for Rees (total Bullshit and spin btw).

Nothing that has happened thus far invalidates this reality.

I don't mind and even like CJ Carr in ONE of the classes but not BOTH of the classes. ND should not sell its soul to get one 5 star at the expense of BOTH CLASSES. This is why Dante moved on. There was lots of assurances and prerogatives given to the Carr family. I would have done the same. Its less about NIL and more about being muscled out.

There are so many narratives being spun without tangible sources, even from the pundits, that everything just feels like conjecture at this point. Ya'll are driving yourself crazy over a done deal. Misery loves company.

I'm just over here ecstatic to have Buchner now, Carr in the future, and am interested to see what they put together as a plan B for 2023. It's not like you all know more than the staff. They'll figure it out.

Fact is he was given more time than he should’ve been given. He chose to play games. He got what he deserved. We got our guy.

Bingo. We have our guy in 2024, (maybe even 2023), and they'll work to recruit another guy in the class that Carr eventually doesn't land in. Nothing to fret over.

It also shows future QB’s that ND isn’t desperate. Other 5 star kids want to play QB at ND. If you leverage an NIL deal against ND, you’ll get burned. If we love you, we want you to come, so get on board, or get left behind.

I'm getting tired of your sensible posts.
