It could have been better written for sure. You could have read it both ways. My guess is that LSU was the top contender against us. I'm hoping we land him. It would help our CB class a ton!

Driskell and Shaun Davis are doing a podcast after Christian Gray makes his commitment. Although they haven’t said where Gray will be committing tomorrow, IB pretty much always does a show leading into or immediately after a player commits to ND, so make of that what you will. Shaun Davis is very plugged into the STL kids and has said for a while that ND is the leader.

Gray committed to ND staff already.
He has always had a July 4th announcement date, going back to before he even decided where to go.

This is a really big deal for a variety of reasons, but one of my favorites is that it is beating LSU for a kid they really want.

Seems pretty telegraphed with the makings of a true silent commit. Cancelled the rest of his OV’s post commitment to the staff. I’m sure we’ll hear that he committed while on campus or shortly thereafter.

Yea his old coach is on the LSU staff which is one of the only reasons why they are still in it

I didn't know much about Gray from a RKG perspective but after watching a 7v7 clip of him I can say this is the type of young man you'd be proud to have as a son. No cursing in 11+ min of game/sideline footage & even went as far to say he listens to gospel music. His announcement is at his church. (Or I'm assuming it's his church)

I know people are bashing IB on here, but something they mentioned on their podcast that has nothing to do with them, but them just repeating a fact, is how fast the DB class will be…
Gray ran an electronic 40 at the OSU camp of 4.41, then followed by a 4.42 and he is only the third fastest DB in the class.
Bowen ran an electronic 4.38 and Bell is one of the fastest HS kids in the country, not talking just football, talking track. His outdoor track times translate to low 4.3’s in the 40.
So ND’s DB class will have three kids running legit 4.4 flat and faster.

Make them all wide receivers. Screw defense. The DL and LBs can do all the work.
