ND has a lot of leverage until the ACC starts losing teams. Then the B10 more or less holds all the cards.

This is all assuming that ND is boxed out of the playoffs in the future, which is far from a given.

Why not all the other sports?

ND would instantly be the main power in a predominantly Catholic conference. It’s culturally a fit. In terms of resources/facilities, ND Football is in line or better than the rest of the BIG. That is not the case for the majority of the other sports.

I’d love to see the ACC expand, add us full time and have the sense to get a bigger chunk of the pie,… maybe possible with adding us and other big boys like North Texas and UCONN… Ef the BIG sideways

Wouldn’t be surprised to see top teams from pac and acc and big12 join up if fsu and Miami go to sec

The conference will be call Left Center Right

It would be interesting if the SEC forces out some of the lesser competition
Lolol

And make the conference powers all actually have to play each other?!?!?

Lolololololol

That’s the last freakin thing that happens here.

They just added Texas why would they force them out?

But actually, you need wins from somewhere, conferences need Vanderbilts and South Carolinas

Why in the actual F would any ND fan want to join the big ten?!
At some point, may not be for many years, ND will have to join a conference and the choice will be the big 10 or the SEC. That's it.

Pick whichever one you think ND fits better and root for that.

True but it also seems like this adjustment is solely about profit. Money has changed everything these days.

Yes, and scheduling their best to multiple playoff spots each year brings in money by the boatloads,…

Can we stop saying ND might join the Big Ten when it won’t be named the Big Ten and half the teams won’t be Big Ten teams and our schedule would look almost identical to pre-ACC scheduling deal

We weren’t a Big Ten team when we played Michigan, Michigan St, Purdue and USC all in the same year

Notre Dame should agree to join only if Michigan is kicked out and the conference is renamed, ‘Notre Dame and Company’

USC and UCLA in the B1G beginning 2024. Amazing. Would not have imagined that this morning.

The SEC would make no sense, there is no historic/geographic connection there. ND is still king of Chicago, ftr.

Conference USA & AAC commissioners just waiting for the B1G and SEC to buy out their naming conference naming rights…

I feel like this is a move to get ND to join the big ten. The excuse has always been playing a national schedule and keeping our traditional rivalries. By adding SC they are putting it in ND’s court, saying we have almost all your traditional rivals plus playing a national schedule from east coast to west coast. I fully expect ND to join here soon, honestly I don’t actually hate it either. Playing Penn st, Michigan, Ohio st, USC, every year or other year would be pretty awesome and would make for some awesome rivalries as well

To me, NDs power play here is to control who the B1G adds. It’s not like they can just say we want more money than everyone else. I think ND should say okay here is what we want. We want Stanford and we want insert someone from the ACC. NDs play here is to overemphasize the national part and the academic part of the “B1G”.

B1G adds 4 West Coast schools including USC, UCLA and Stanford while also ND & the lucky winner of either 1 or 3 ACC tag a longs.
