This is a good point, and I honestly think this is the closest we’ve ever been to championship caliber ND that I can really remember. Good teams between the mid 90’s through today but most were not championship caliber. And I believe if we get some good QB play this season, we may already be there. Can’t understate how important it is to go 10-2 or better this year and not embarrass ourselves against OSU, Clemson, USC. All this momentum hinges on that.
Agreed. Now I don't think 9-3 kills us but it ain't great. Can’t understate how important it is to go 10-2 or better this year and not embarrass ourselves against OSU, Clemson, USC. All this momentum hinges on that.
I think we win 2 of 3 of those games. Can’t understate how important it is to go 10-2 or better this year and not embarrass ourselves against OSU, Clemson, USC. All this momentum hinges on that.
If you're worried about being to optimistic go back and watch the Okie St game. This is a good point, and I honestly think this is the closest we’ve ever been to championship caliber ND that I can really remember. It’s both easy, and stressful getting this optimistic, lol. But it’s fun right now. I’ll have to revert back to my Cautiously Optimistic approach until I see how they are progressing through August. But I guarantee this ND team will have a much different feel about them then all the years past. Or at least I hope so,
Not gonna lie the offense makes me nervous. We’re so thin at QB, RB and WR.Can’t understate how important it is to go 10-2 or better this year and not embarrass ourselves against OSU, Clemson, USC. All this momentum hinges on that.
The second half.If you're worried about being to optimistic go back and watch the Okie St game.
I’m anticipating Al Golden will be a much better DC than Mike Elston……love Elston but not so sure he is DC material. The second half.
I’m a big fan of Freeman. I am looking for him to step it up and take control more. Would’ve liked to see him force TB into the bowl game and take more control on the sideline. Needed to see more conversing and energy. Hoping that confidence comes with time. I don’t want Tommy Rees having too many executive powers. I could see giving more control of the offense, but I was scratching my head the entire second half about TB.I get it that Rees gets some of the blame, but Freeman gets none? Bullcrap. There is no way that canceling Vizzina was Reese's call. I'm sure there were discussions among the coaching staff, but ultimate responsibility lies at the feet of Freeman. It was either his decision to be made, or he delegated that decision to Rees. Either way, it was ultimately Freeman's call.
Ha, that’s where the cautious comes in. I said before though, I’ll not hold that against him. Clean slate as far as I’m concerned. If you're worried about being to optimistic go back and watch the Okie St game.

I get he's wearing the right hat, but I have grown tired of seeing Lloyd Carr's face. lolI’m a big fan of Freeman. I am looking for him to step it up and take control more. I feel the same but here's the silver lining: The way ND is recruiting both lines, a great OL can make mediocre QBs look better and a great DL will make opposing elite QBs look terrible. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.Lol genuinely starting to feel like the QB position has some weird curse on it where everything that can go wrong will go wrong.
I'm going with Micah Tease then. M'Pemba and Downs stay for now.Didn't make the cut for Wagoner. I think M'Pemba is a pipe dream unless he actually OV's in the Fall. I don't think ND is getting Downs either.
I'm not a recruiting junky. Just my gut. Would obviously love to be wrong.

I fully comprehend any hint of optimism is going to be met with explosive ass piss out here, but humor me. I think conservative realistic conventional wisdom thinking stands in the way of anyone ever getting anywhere.
I Believe in Marcus Freeman
Heistand recruits only tackles and sorts it out later, IIRC.Jagusah is a huge pickup. This class needed tackles, and he's as good as it gets.
Tease wants to play WR, right? So change that spot in your list to ATH or WR and you got yourself a deal.
M'Pemba by all accounts is a ND type kid. They want him to OV in the fall, closer towards his decision timeline, and if he does, I think ND lands him. I'm not holding my breath on Downs though. I think ND can pull it off, but I don't think there's enough intel out there right now on him to warrant any confidence. Again, I don't follow recruiting as closely as others, so maybe I'm completely wrong and ND lands all of them....I'm good with that!
That's typically been his strategy. But it's clear some of the kids in this OL class aren't full-time starting OTs at the level ND plays (and that's fine! Lines need guards and centers), so it's great to land players like Paige and Jagusah who are obvious tackles.Heistand recruits only tackles and sorts it out later, IIRC.
Everything is relative. I used to eat/sleep/breath recruiting. Now I just dabble. It's easier on the ol' ticker.Doesn't seem like it.
100%HOw confident are we that ND is going 3/3?
7/1 - Micah Bell
7/3 - Rico Flores
7/4 - Christian Gray

I’d set the O/U for future starters at 2.5If you told me it’ll be
Paige - Jagusah - Otting - Pendleton - Absher
if this class had to be slotted exclusively in each spot it’d say sign me up.
