What happened to the democrat party they used to be soft hearted and a little naive but half ass realistic. Now they just live in a pretend world and their policies destroy everything they touch. When you promote based on wokeist bona fides instead of experience and ability you get the worst supply chain issues ever from a guy who ruined a handful of main streets here and hid from responsibility for the deaths it caused. Yeah that guy should run the countries transportation system

This is the dude who's parents were members of the Weather Underground a violent radical group from the 60's - 80's. Parents killed two cops and were sentenced to long prison terms.

While campaigning, he spoke of the pain of stepping through metal detectors to hug his parents and vowed to reform a system that tears apart families.

Dude, the system didn't tear your family apart. It was those two that spoke to you through a big piece of plexiglass.

I assume your talking about Marion County Indiana?

Ryan Mears...... he decided not to prosecute low level marijuana offenses which I'm okay with, but the police said they would still act according to the law and make arrest, so the work load didn't ease up much.

Mears also started a program to help offenders with low-level offenses get them expunged. Mears believes that will help those offenders get a better job and reduce the chances of them getting into trouble again.

To help juveniles, he started the "Second Chance Program." Instead of nonviolent juvenile offenders ending up in the criminal justice system, they will get a one-year membership to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis.

Mears has faced criticism though over his stance on marijuana and for not applying Indiana's red flag law to keep guns out of the hands of the FedEx mass shooter after a previous run-in with police. Without the red flag law being used, the FedEx suspect was able to purchase a rifle legally in July of 2020 and then another rifle in September of 2020. He later went on to kill eight people and wound others in an April 21 shooting at a FedEx facility near the Indianapolis International Airport.

But our elections are secure.

A former congressman from Philadelphia pleaded guilty Monday to charges related to fraudulently stuffing ballot boxes for Democratic candidates between 2014 and 2018.

Federal prosecutors said former Democratic U.S. Rep. pleaded guilty to violations of election law, conspiracy, bribery and obstruction.

Messages seeking comment were left for his defense lawyers listed on the online docket.

In a sentencing memo dated Friday, federal prosecutors said his "criminal efforts were generally, although not exclusively, directed at securing election victories for local judicial candidates running for Philadelphia’s Court of Common Pleas or Municipal Court who had employed Myers as a ‘political consultant.’"

Myers was expelled from Congress in 1980 after being caught taking bribes in the Abscam sting investigation.

Prosecutors said Myers, 79, admitted he bribed a judge of elections to add votes for his chosen candidates, including clients who were running for judicial offices. The bribes were hundreds or thousands of dollars.

He also conspired with another elections judge to tell voters on election days which candidates they should vote for, candidates that Myers had selected, and the now former judge cast fraudulent votes for people who did not appear at the polls.

"Votes are not things to be purchased and democracy is not for sale," U.S. Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams said in a news release.

In the Abscam sting, Myers was convicted of bribery and conspiracy for taking money from FBI agents who posed as Arab sheiks. He served more than a year in prison.

Myers also served six years in the Pennsylvania House before his 1976 election to Congress.

I honestly wonder how much of this goes on with both sides and isn't caught.

Probably more than we want to know. lol

Back in his heyday, Mayor Daley of Chicago was the king of voter fraud. From what I remember he didn't even try to hide it and kept getting reelected.

Good for mayra its good for one party always places to switch from time to time. Mono party rule in an area leads to laziness and corruption

Isn't that literally "cancel culture"

No ya silly goose, thats called firing your employees for conduct. You cannot join a collective as SpaceX employees and write an "open letter" bashing your boss and expect to get away with it. If any of my employees went public to bash me for anything they would be gone. What if the roles were reversed and he wrote an open letter singling out liberal employees he disagrees with. Probably a law suit.

So what you're saying is they are reaping what they sowed with their actions, despite losing their positions based on their letter.

I agree with this position. Just ironic free speech advocates changing their tunes and all.

I guess you would need to clarify who you are talking about in regard to "free speech advocates" and what their position is/was.

I'll make it simpler - Do you believe that if someone violates terms and conditions they should lose access to that private companies service?

Make it simpler by avoiding the question? I will make it simpler-er. Get a group of employees together to publicly talk bad about your boss you deserve to be fired.
