Good for you Carson! Whittingham, your coach in waiting is very good at player development, in the Kirk Ferentz vein.

Be well and prosper

I wonder how many students at BYU are Catholic? Jim McMahon didn’t seem to enjoy his time there.

You’d have been salty too had you wanted to go to ND but got ignored by Devine as the Irish won the natty and you were not only NOT BYU’s QB but… their punter.

i actually had a cousin (obv catholic irish) from Cincy who ended up at BYU lol
What kind of experience did they have? I think I’d have a hard time attending a religious school that wasn’t Catholic. I can’t imagine attending Liberty or Bob Jones and the like.

Former BYU student here:

I know that it’s about 1% non-LDS on campus. So I would say rough estimate of 150 of 30,000 is your answer.

Well, don't know how much experience you've had with LDS'ers but they are not all the same.

It may be like the distribution in Catholicism at a place like ND.

Some devout(Mitt Romney is a DEVOUT Mormon)
Some nominal
Some indifferent

And if you have spent time in the West, there is an animal called a "Jack Mormon" slang for an LDSer who drinks, smokes and philanders.

It is a tricky denomination.

Mormon "ELDERS" are a living lie, as few are over 30.
And I know two people who know Jeffers well. Scary cultist guy

It is a strange scripture, difficult to read. The Gita, for example is beautiful, and the Holy Q'Uran has many great moments, and WHEN YOU READ IT you understand the linkage between Islam and Christianity (A few Crusades notwithstanding.)

But the book of Mormon? Really? Laman, Nephi? Moroni, Joey Smith finding gold plates in western New York?

It is a strange cult, and it IS a CULT.

If you have daughters and granddaughters, do NOT let them date Mormons.

A very bad deal for women.................

Ha! Well memed, sir. I thought you were going to chastise Bogs for his lack of charity, but instead you pulled out an EPIC DUNK on everyone who believes in the Invisible Sky Fairy! I am blown away by the awesome power of your rationality. By the way, could you introduce me to some people over at /r/atheism? I really need to vent my teenage angst over the fact that my parents still make me go to church as a 14-year-old.

Not splitting hairs but if it’s 1% of 30,000 isn’t it about 300?

that 1% I divided into parts. It's not all catholic for example. Some non-denominational, Islamic, etc. So I actually made the estimate at .5% which I would think is more accurate.

Imagine typing this unironically lol.
You're the one that unironically called the Bible "made up", which Mormons would find as insulting as Bogs' post.
Continue to stick up for the guy using your book to admonish people for having had divorces while also looking down on others for their sci-fi story lol.
Who's sticking up for Bogs? There were a hundred ways you could have dunked on his post without saying "lol bible fake too bro." Just take the L and move on. This cringey internet atheist edgelord bullshit is beneath contempt.

...the jesus stuff is just a bunch of word of mouth stories written well after his mortal life ended. But hey, if that's what you need to treat other people well, more power to you.

That said, I would imagine that attending BYU as a non-lds is not much different than attending Liberty as a catholic.

But this is where the cheese gets binding.

Every great Hindu, Yukteswar, Yogananda, Gandhi, and the others concede that the Bhagavad Gita, is FICTION in the classic sense, albeit "true and wise" in the sense of divine insight. I mean they all know that Krishna was not driving Arjuna around on the plains of Kuruksetwa.

They would say "So What!" Truth is truth, Wisdom is wisdom.
