Just curious, where do you think that Pyne excels where Buchner wouldn't? TB has a way higher ceiling. Not even close really. I like Drew Pyne but to me there isn't any evidence that he is a more accurate passer. Pyne will have a hard time passing to the middle of the field due to his height and he definitely doesn't have better arm strength or running ability that TB has. I can see a way ND wins again OSU with Buchner, Drew Pyne is a longer shot to win that game imo

Well, the comment was mostly in jest related to Buckner being a bit injured it sounds like, but since you brought the topic up...I don't really give much of a damn about stars and ceilings levied against high school kids tbh. Never have, never will. It all means nothing once a kid gets to campus if a kid doesn't live up to the hype or, better yet, exceeds the billing.

There's not exactly a big sample size for either guy, but if we look at both games Pyne appeared in last year he had a higher QBR than either of the other Irish QBs, Buckner included. Buckner actually had at least 3 games where his QBR didn't hit double digits last season. There were games against the mighty Toledo and Purdue where he looked very good, but so far he's struggled in limited action against tougher defenses. For all our sakes I hope me makes that big jump his second year as many freshmen often do, but right now he's a mostly unproven commodity.

I support whoever is under center in Columbus, just want to get that straight. I'll be super happy if Buckner kills it, but I'll be just as happy if Pyne ends up being the guy. I don't really pay favorites, I want the best guy on the field regardless of stars. I just like to troll for Pyne.

On a serious note, idk how much you can actually learn from TB with a red jersey on anyway. Now to pray it's just a sprain...

Looking forward to seeing Watts at safety this weekend. Reports make it seem like he's coming along nicely back there and we certainly could use the depth behind Brown/Joseph.
