High gas prices: bad

High insulin prices: We cool

It's not JUST gas prices that have become higher under Biden. Part of why his approval keeps moving in the right direction.

The guy is a tool. Anyone that comes to DC and seeks a publicist before a policy expert is in it for the wrong reasons. I fully expect NRCC to isolate him going forward.

There are so many of these lib Karens who think everyone lives in their bubble. Glad to see it, but this has to be old since the Biden mask mandate isn't in effect here.

According to my third grade teacher Sr. Rose, Fred is correct.
I have a serious question for you. Why do so many on the Left find patriotism, the flag, loving your country, and etc. to be a bad thing worthy of scorn and to be made fun of? We're all aware that our country, like EVERY country, is imperfect, so loving your country or being patriotic isn't condoning its imperfections. It's like loving your spouse. You know they aren't perfect, and saying you love your wife doesn't mean you don't see her faults. So, seriously, why is it so common on the Left to laugh at anyone who says they love the US, salutes the flag, is openly patriotic? I genuinely want to hear a reasonable explanation.

I’ve shared my stereotypical liberal co workers in the past,… I remember about a month before Covid broke out someone was on campus with a big American flag in their pickup,… he had on an American eagle shirt like what you’d buy at Walmart,… nothing else. That was literally it. He did nothing but park his car and walk to the library. The super libs couldn’t stop talking about how scary it was to have an open white nationalist on campus and one started crying a bit, literally tearing up, because she couldn’t imagine how frightening that guy must be to our black students,… mind you this lady is the living embodiment of ‘white lady’ and I’m about 99% sure she has never had any true meaningful encounters with an African American but I digress,… but yeah, American flag and a bald eagle t shirt honest to goodness equates to KKK member in their minds. Do I need to go into how much they absolutely loathe the country in general?? I’m so glad I teach in another department now.

Anyway, thanks for coming to my Tedtalk. I try not to post in these threads but the dynamic Bish touched on and the insistence that anything small gov must be rooted in racism are two big pet peeves of mine and huge reasons why I left the left. Both bother the shit out me

Jim Banks declares war on Mickey Mouse. It is unclear if WMD or deportation will be involved

congressman Banks is from Columbia City, IN.

The scurrilous rumour that Jim was conceived one night by the night cleanup crew at
Penguin Point
526 N. Line Street Columbia City''

is just baseless and any allegation that the "donor" was wearing a defective Mickey Mouse condom is equally baseless

Who ya got? The mouse or Banks?

I remember working at K-Mart back in college during 9/11. I can't tell you how many times I had to turn people away looking for American flags because we were sold out. For weeks everyone was sold out, we'd get stock in and then sell out immediately again. Dozens of times a day I had to turn people away. We may never have another unifying moment in our history like that again, although I really wish we would (Just not at the cost of American lives like before).

It'll never happen again. Even if we did have another horrific day like the Boston bombing or 9-11. There is to many open sites you can give your opinion that creates tension. Everyone is guilty.

Neither are a lot of these... so we can make up our own. Instead of pronoun I just want my own adjective. I identify as sexy.

Orban won another term in Hungary yesterday. He said his "huge victory" could be seen "from the Moon, but certainly from Brussels as well".

He took a shot at Zelensky in his victory speech and received congrats from Putin.

If you want to see a textbook gerrymandering operation and how it plays out to keep a party in power then look no further to Orban and Hungary’s Conservative party. It’s playing out similarly in here in the US.

Your favored party has taken a couple L's recently regarding gerrymandering.

Pretending its a GOP thing is objectively stupid. You know better lol.

I've decided I want to be called "Bill" from now on. This is not my name, legal or otherwise, so you all know.

The US one is relatively mild. The Hungarian one is something like 7%. Hungary doesn't require districts have equal population, so population can be off by 35% . Turns out all the big districts are opposition and all the small ones Orban.

I mean one needs only look at Ohio and Nc recent maps as well as what they did in my state district by moving the black voting population of Charleston SC01 into SC06 there by making 01 a no competitive district. Ohio is now something like 12-2 safe gop. Maybe NY picked up a couple seats. Trying to think of other Dem states where they made them egregiously gerrymandered. Maryland I think? I’m sure there are some. Maybe someone can help me out there?

I’m trying to see where I said only one party was doing it though… huh. Don’t think I did.

Here is a good link for people who are insterestes. In any event the die is cast and it is trending to gerrymandered districts creating non competitive districts.

Maryland is the other D one. The point is here each state does its own thing, but there they have a federal gerrymandering more severe than what our states can do. Fidesz also took them to a first past the post system set to favor them as the biggest party vs the old pure proportional system (Fidesz can take 40% and win a district vs taking 4/10 seats).

If only there was legislation that could curtail gerrymandering by both parties.

You didn't, but the inference was quite clear.

To me this is a nothing burger. This has been going on (by both parties) for as long as I can remember. Much like the SC nominees where one side is up in arms, until the script is flipped.

There was a Tweet thread a few years ago where they did pictures of maps that looked liked every letter of the alphabet. It was meant to be funny but in reality it showed how ridiculous the system really is. They found 26 districts that were drawn and able to resemble every letter.

It's that way with 95% of their platform: it's demagoguery and emotion-driven instead of rational and fact-driven. It's almost always scare tactics, emotional manipulation, and how it makes their target audience feel instead of think.

LOL! “Big Oil!!!” “Big Pharma!!!” “Big Bogeyman!!!”

As flawed as EVERY industry is, there is no worse example of an American cesspool as the United States Congress. It’s so easy to demagogue and I see why pols do it…because it works. And I see why Big Oil, Big Pharma, etc respond in kind w/ Lobbyists…b/c it works.
