This is a sensational hire! He's got ties to the west coast, which is sorely needed recruiting wise with Del (okay he didn't help that much) and Polian gone.

I don’t know anything about this running back coach but Indiana isn’t really running back u. I will read up on him and take others advice on him.
I don't think McCullough was around for them all but IU did have a nice lil run of RBs. Some were transfers in but they still were productive. I didn't hear alot of names thrown around here but he was one I did like that I saw.

Now about them offspring?

He was the running backs coach when they produced Jordan Howard and Tevin Coleman. Also had 2 1000 yard backs in 2015 there. Seems like a home run.

Just read on a Hoosier board that some insider guy that broke this hire before it was public (maybe yesterday) said that if/when McCullough is hired by ND that his sons are coming too. That would be a nice bonus. Apparently this guy has broke other stuff in the past too. Crossing my fingers.

Not to mention he brings a Super Bowl ring with him from his time in Kansas City when he was RB coach. Never hurts to bring that bad boy on a recruiting trip.

Wasn't there a small piece on him on Gameday last year or the year before??

Deland is a redshirt sophomore DB. Dasan is an early enrollee freshman LB.

Deland has already transferred once so he would have to sit out a year and clear admissions unless he graduates. He’s not playing much at IU.

eldest son has already used his one time transfer right? so any movement he does from here on out comes with a 1 year sit out? For a kid who already redshirted and transfered he may not be interested in postponing his college career any longer.

Dasan is '22 signed NLI, and EE. I have not seen clear legislation on when he can transfer/play.

Daeh, a four-star recruit from Bloomington South who could play cornerback or safety and is currently committed to the Hoosiers for the 2023 class.

I didn't realize that he was only at IU for a year.
he was there previously for a decent stint. 2011-2016.

Apparently there is also a movie out there about Deland finding out who his biological father is, among other father stories.

Pretty wild story. Mom put him up for adoption, then brings him back, he finds out his biological father was a man who he already considered his male role model.

Movie was done by the Kendrick Brothers in 2021 called "show me the father"

Deland has certainly done some bouncing around in his career. But, based on the little ive read on his family/father history. this move for him may strictly been about creating the best opportunity for his sons. Certainly can't hate him for that.

I like Dasan at the Vyper position. Adds a little 2023 depth after Foskey and Justin A are gone. This may free up Botelho to at least compete for a starting spot at Mike or Rover.

Jeff Faris from UCLA is one that jumps out. 31 years old and has coached multiple positions already.

Turner has been at Stanford forever. What would it take to get him to leave?

All these guys are sorta "meh" for me. I think they need to get a guy who can offer more than simply coach TE's.

I brought it up earlier, but I think the staff needs a guy who can truly assist MF and TR in helping run the offense. Not because I don't think Tommy is incapable, but because they need some veterans and sounding boards on the staff.

And someone who will never, ever, ever leave.

Ever.

Oh man, if y'all have never read the story about McCollough finding his father, it is absolutely worth the 20 minutes.

I was able to locate and reunite my mother (adopted) with her biological mother via research on geneaology websites. Probably the best thing I have ever been able to do for my mom. This hits home.

Its a pretty wild story but a good one. Ended up confirming her family were German Dutch immigrants that settled in Grand Rapids/Holland Michigan.
