At least "Tier 6 Dogshit Posting" will now be part of the common IE jargon.

I'm excited for the potential of how that will set off good fun, and maybe some legitimate dramatic fireworks between posters, in the future.

Personally, I like this hire. Free Manera hit the bullet points. Lets rock n roll.

I lean toward liking the hire. What coach wasn't an unknown commodity when they got into coaching? None of us really know how well he'll do, but when Dabo and Aranda endorse him, that says something.

I was stationed at Warner Robins when Chansi Stuckey was the QB at Northside High School. It was amazing watching Warner Robins play their cross town rivals in Northside and to watch 2 future NFL players in Willie Reid and Chansi duke it out. Looking forward to seeing what he can do for us. Mike Richardson who played cb for us in the early 2000's was also from Warner Robins around that time.

Right. Those are two guys who we should hold their opinion in very high regard.

ND needs a massive injection of recruiting talent at WR. Chansi clearly has the chops to make that happen. MF made it clear on day 1 that recruiting was a top priority. If he didn't believe Chansi could bring in loads of talent, he wouldn't have been hired. How he develops said talent is TBD, but his experience at the highest level will pay dividends to the kids he brings in.

My silver lining take on this staff as a whole: If this becomes a failure, the next staff sure as hell won't have bare cupboards. Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting.

OMG, I somehow missed pg51 and the build up to what transpired yesterday.

Tell me if I have this right:

Arrowryan tweets Shephard is a done deal.

philly calls him out for shitposting.

The board (mostly) shows unity behind arrowryan for trying his darndest

Philly doubles down.

We quibble about misspellings of names: Gholston, Reese and Vandurdose, somewhere shed a tear.

Now it's being reported Stuckey will be named the WR coach.

Humble pies are served and equivocations grow.

Arrowryan loses some credibility and now must step carefully, reducing his previous aggressive stance to beat the "BIG BOYS", thus hobbling his COVID pet project. (hobbled, not incapacitated!)

Philly was right and is still considered an asshole for his aggressive derision.

I am the ultimate winner because this was amongst the most enjoyable reads I've had in a while.

Thanks to everyone for their contributions. Any volunteers for the next big hiring? (arrow, whatchu got?)

All it needed was some cat jokes,… a good Salma Hayek gif or two and a decent recipe for mustard greens,… I’m sorry I missed it.

Two more pages of variously-tiered shitposting, and greyhammer90 would've had to drop in with the Suddenly Spider-Man library.

Yeah this is horrible on multiple levels. Great coach, great person, great recruiter. Also a veteran who added stability. Could have a large ripple effect on ND in both the short term (production, guys deciding to declare or transfer, '22 and '23 recruits looking around) and long term (stability, eye for talent, ability to recruit the DL at a high level with good fits for ND).

IMO, this is 10x worse than losing Kelly because you're not going to get an upgrade in replacing him.

Can you keep this site up for a few more days, though? Some people I'd like to say goodbye to.

It will be spring ball before we have a complete staff. The way the season ended and now this coaching changes its hard to get excited for next season.

Haha people can think I'm overreacting, but I have a tremendous amount of respect for what he's been able to do at ND. And I think he's a GREAT recruiter, and does a great job building depth and understanding who can be successful at ND. I think this could doubly be a thorn in our side given how talented the guys are in the '23 class and how he had built great relationships there. He was also a primary factor in DL who opted to return for a 5th year. IMO, expect recruiting dogfights going forward and a talent downgrade at the position.

Why just 10x worse? why not 50x? I think the program is now officially on fire. I mean all of the good things will now be undone because we lost our DL coach. He was the essential element to everything.

....or.......

the wheels keep turning. Another coach leaves and another opening exists, let's see who we can get to step in and build on this.

ND is nowhere close to being elite if losing a DL coach has the negative impact you seem to think it will.

Top programs lose coaches, replace them and keep rolling every year. I expect ND to do the same.

Really enjoyed Elston and the talent he has developed.

But his performance in the Fiesta Bowl was very alarming.

If ND lost Elston to being the new DC at Purdue, you'd be right.

I get he is a Michigan alum and all.... but this isn't a good look for the program.
