LSU powers that be don't care for him correct? The seems to be an incredible amount of toxicity in Baton Rouge.

I think Kiffen to Miami is a great fit. It fits his lifestyle, he can recruit Florida, and it would be much easier to win the ACC than banging his head up against the wall in the SEC. And it would be super entertaining.

and he still has a place in Boca, from his days at FAU. He can hit the ground running and upgrade the abode later

I'm seeing some stuff that says Napier is all but a done deal at Florida and may be announced as early as Sunday. Seems like a good fit for both.

LSU is gonna be stuck with Bill O'Brien aren't they?

He's supposedly their top choice if they can't get Jimbo... and they aren't going to get Jimbo. I think there's some fighting going on between various camps in the LSU family, with each of them pushing for different choices as HC, much like what happened at Auburn last year. Instead of making a homerun hire, they're gonna end up making a mediocre compromise hire. As a Bama fan, I'd LOVE for them to hire O'Brien. Kills two birds with one stone.

He turned the Penn State program around. He could do the same at LSU.

Doesn’t Saban want his coordinator rehabilitation program to last at least 2 years? Burning a Saban bridge would be a bold move

I don’t see Kiffin or any real name going to Miami unless there is more than talk to the spending ability, or lack thereof

The Saban Coaching Rehab Clinic is more about getting your head coaching career back on track, not teaching mediocre coordinators how to be better coordinators. O'Brien did well at PSU and might be fine at LSU, though I don't see him making them a consistent NC contender. Bama fans are not impressed with his offense nor his play calling. He seriously screwed the pooch in just about every way in the A&M game and hasn't done much since to convince us he's the man. He's not awful as an OC. He's just mediocre. We're ready for Saban to find someone else.

"The University of Miami is finally willing to allocate the necessary funding that it takes to compete at a high level in modern college football.

According to Miami Hurricanes insider Mike Ryan Ruiz of the Dan Le Batard Show, the UM administration is willing to commit $20-30M more to Miami’s annual football budget."
"Miami’s U-Health system in South Florida has been quite profitable over the past two years, reportedly making a profit of more than $400M in each of those fiscal years. Frenk is now willing to provide the some of the money that comes into the university to the football program. "

Nothing official I can find. Just that Baylor is working on getting an extension done in the next few weeks.

Dallas Morning News reporting an extension for Aranda at Baylor is in the works. He seems happy there, and he's a good coach for Baylor. They should do well in the "new" Big12 when OU and UT sail away.

The lack of extension?

That. Lincoln I think was legitimately mad about the Rattler/Williams stuff. Even seemed odd Walker Howard got solidified a week or so ago. Way LSU has zero real backup options and let Napier walk it seems. ADs reputation.

Just don’t see them striking out for a top guy and Lincoln appears to be the one still standing

I don't want want to ever hear the 'coaches don't make lateral moves' or 'why would he leave to come here' excuse again when it comes to future coaching searches.

Who has made a lateral move?

LSU will likely be paying more, is a better recruiting job, and the last three HCs won national championships. 3 since OU did. Not lateral.

I tend to agree, LSU is a better job. In fact, I can see Oklahoma becoming to the SEC what Nebraska became to the B1G. They are making a huge mistake and won’t realize it until it’s too late.
