Dude will go down as all time villain with the I will not be the next LSU coach and then takes USC job the next day in OU fans eyes

This is embarrassing for the Oklahoma program..I would be irate of I was a Sooner fan to let them snag our coach. Who do they turn to now? Campbell?

So is USC a better job than Oklahoma too?

Don’t mind this hire. Aranda and Campbell scared me more because they would bring some toughness. Riley’s teams have always been Charmin soft. They will score video game points in the PAC12 but unless he brings a completely new defensive staff in and builds an entirely different culture they will have the same results as his “good” Oklahoma teams.

Crazy that he was so scared of the SEC.

This is the worst case scenario in many ways.

Oh well. Bring it on. They still wont be able to play defense.

Do we get a game of chicken happening now? Lincoln didn’t want the SEC, clearly. Mario has had a nice gig up in Oregon with Helton at USC. Does he make his Miami jump to avoid his recruiting falling down?

Why? I thought Oklahoma was the new 'Nebraska'.

This is not good news for us........at all.

It is easier to win in the Pac-12 than in the SEC. It is probably easier to recruit at USC because of the location and the lack of other 'major' CFP schools in the area (or frankly in the entire region west of the Rockies), etc.

Well he was telling the truth about not being LSU's next head coach lol

USC is now a much tougher game for us. Hopefully Riley will bring his history of bad defense with him.

Pays more

ND can't get a big name coach and everybody says 'why would anyone leave their current program to come here'

USC gets Lincoln fucking Riley and it's 'pays more.
LSU almost gets him and it's 'LSU can recruit better. Oklahoma is becoming 'Nebraska'.

Some programs and some AD"s seem to be able to get pretty much whoever they want it seems.

A Riley led USC will help our strength of schedule if just on name brand alone. It will be interesting to see if he can get o-line recruits out there though. I think that the o-line success at Oklahoma was a massively underrated factor in their offensive dominance.

There is a drastic difference between taking the reigns of a successful program, that was built from the ground up, and having to do a rebuild yourself. Not that he won’t be good there but Riley was handed the keys to a pretty nice whip, and just didn’t wreck it. This is a full on restore project.

Don’t know why you keep turning any Lincoln news into an indictment on ND. Really stretching it, don’t understand really the relevance at all

If he elevates USC the way we think, I don't wanna schedule an Ohio State anymore when we see Clemson fairly often now. Next year is fucking brutal.

I hope he kills it. Except for one time per year (and once again in the playoffs).

USC being good helps ND. It’s a barometer. It’s a SOS boost. It’s interesting. It’s more fun. A year like this one it could’ve been our signature win and gave credence to the season.

Brian Kelly is a top 5 coach in the country. Everything is doom and gloom with you. It’s exhausting.

Of the coaches in CFB I think Kelly is not only a top 5 coach, but probably the best fit for the program. Some of those big name guys don’t have the chops to be successful at ND because they would have to relinquish some control. Most guys , and even Kelly early in his tenure, have issues having to run things by someone else.
