Where the hell did you go to school that kids were bringing guns to school? I graduated in '70 and nobody carried a gun back then. when guns laws and school regulations were way more relaxed.

As ND said it was knives, I still don't know anyone that owns a gun up here. The weakest kids always brought knives to school. I'm assuming that was the case with guns down there.

Still an issue in rural America - parking lot is school grounds and kids are rung up for "bringing a gun to school". Police dogs are trained to smell gun powder or whatever an uncleaned gun smells like and in drug sweeps they may find a gun in the trunk of some hunter. Suburban dipshits will forever lament how it is unbelievable and obviously those kids are threats to society that should be burned alive when it is just a kid who traps or hunts and forgot or didn't give AF. More often than not they are future Marines and Army grunts or farmer or welders or some other highly undesirable unwashed peon like Kyle Rittehhouse.

I hope nobody is getting in serious trouble for that but RIP for those that do.

Charge dismissed.

This was a really interesting letter-of-the-law situation that was totally glossed over in all the reporting I ever saw on the case. Every piece said "it's illegal to have a gun as a minor." I get that the statute is complicated, but one would think that someone at some point at a major news outlet would've done the research and said "actually, because an AR-15 is a long barreled rifle, a minor can possess it because of a carve out in the law that exists purportedly for sporting/hunting reasons." The charge never should've been brought in the first place.

Yes - the weakest should just take the beating and not take any means to defend themselves. Builds character or something. What difference does it make if you are bankrupted by hospital bills or legal defense bills anyway. #Murica

High school fist fight? You've got the lowest T on the playground if you pull a knife out and stab someone in a fist fight. Get those bullet proof backpacks, Johnny and Ricky are fighting and it's going to be a shootout!

I would have brought a firearms expert to the stand to explain what a long barrel rifle is and then measure it in front of the jury. Not sure why it ever lasted that long. The reporting has largely been crap.

I think the media is in too much of a hurry to report something ahead of everyone else anymore that they are not as thorough as they should be. My question, is shouldn't the prosecutor known this before adding the charge or the judge dismissing the charge as soon as it got to his court?

In agreement in the sense of high school. In the sense of defending my property from bands of roving pedophiles I'll opt for the rifle. The fact the prosecutor acted like he should have been a man about it gotten his head kicked in is the mind numbing part for me.

Yeah, defend your property with whatever is legal. Someone breaks in? Blow their brains out. Dress up army medic is so lame though, join the reserves, volunteer at a hospital, vigilante justice is for the crazies.

People standing up for their community is so lame. Just let it get burnt to the ground already. So shocked that all three "victims" of Rittenhouse had clean records as fine outstanding citizens. Almost as pure as St. George Floyd or that baby momma beater Blake. Lawlessness in the streets is not in anyone's best interest - except maybe CNN and some race baiting politicians.

Again, did George Floyd deserve to die? Really simple concept with that one.

Also, this wasn't Rittenhouse's "community." Kid shouldn't have been there, even if he was acting in self defense when it was all said and done.

I thought the whole question around Floyd wasn't about whether or not he deserved to die, but rather the role of the chemicals he introduced to his body or the technique used by the officer? Don't recall the 'he deserved to die' movement.

If we're going to play woulda, coulda, shoulda- The community shouldn't have been allowed to burn. Neighborhoods shouldn't have been surrendered. Police should have been near the Car Source, not down the road. Had the community been under control, they wouldn't have had people out there to protect it.

Is it wise to put a 17-year-old armed in this mess? Hell no.

However, when the state or city loses control of an area like we've seen in several cities during the BLM riots, Ferguson, w/e, - the people have a right to defend themselves. It's not their obligation to take their beating like a man.

I'm team rooftop Korean.

The idea presented by the ADA Kraus that Kyle should have fought him and potentially ended up like the other Rosenbaum victims is absurd to me.

I'd consider a town where I work, where I have friends, and where one of my parents lives to be among my "communities."

Whether he should have been there or not, the whole "this isn't his community" thing seems similarly silly to the "he crossed state lines" deal. It takes him less time to drive to town to work/hang out/visit than it does for me to walk to school every day.

Just because he was young, dumb and naive doesn't mean his mere presence was a crime.

I think the crux here is that the left and most of the media that supported the mostly peaceful protests are angry. Angry because a white kid took it upon himself to dare go to that community and try to put out fires and and stop mayhem. How dare he? BLM, Antifa and those who think like them wanted destruction. The media did to. They live for this shit and will stoke the flames when they can. And he brought a gun! How John Wayne of him. And we know what John Wayne cowboys represent.

So he realizes he's in way over his head and enrages three goons by putting out a fire they started. Hell, his mere presence enraged them. So he ends up killing two of them because they chased him, beat him over the head with the business end of a skateboard, pulled a pistol on him and tried to take his gun. It's irrelevant if he should be there at this point. The guy next door shouldn't be jumping some guys wife down the street but he is and it's not illegal. By the way, has anyone bothered to ask how smart it was for these three men to chase this kid who is obviously armed? Who really instigated them getting killed? The kid, or the men who forced the kid to shoot?

I supposed he could have taken getting beaten to a pulp like a man by dropping his gun and using his fists. He chose to defend himself with the gun and two men who I guess we're supposed to be there(?) are dead. But not just any men. Protester/rioter/anarchists who were making the city pay. And that is the 'crime' that this kid is really being tried for. If this kid was at the Capitol and shot three protesters who attacked him for protecting the capitol, those who despise him would hail him as a fucking hero

It's a twenty-minute drive "across state lines" from Antioch to Kenosha. He had multiple family members in Kenosha. Not clear how many of the rioters and looters had ties to Kenosha. That state line is the only border the MSM media is willing to cover.

Rossenbaum was from Kenosha, the other two were both over half an hour away.

Who said he deserved to die? I'm saying you engage in stupid behavior and don't expect me to give a shit when bad things happen to you. Drugs are laced with fentanyl all over the place - its incredibly dangerous to take street drugs. Wandering around high as a kite and you are going to get arrested at some point - you would think the repeat criminal would be a little more sensitive to this. You really think the police are out to kill black people, well maybe don't do things with a high probability of ending up engaged with the police! Zero accountability for the derelicts - just insane standards placed on everyone else who has to put up with their shit.

Yes, I will give the benefit of the doubt to police and armed citizens over career criminals. Just once would be great if these antagonists could champion someone without a criminal history - these Rittenhouse "victims" are real winners. Nothing good happens at a riot - go home and/or bug out. That is a logical human standard, not a legal one. But when the police stand down - you don't get to whine about "vigilantes" because that is exactly what "we" cultivated by giving cover to the antagonists. Boo f-ing hoo, we can't riot and assault and loot in peace b/c some people are stepping up where the police are standing down. Maybe those trained thugs in blue aren't so bad after all?

I didn't realize either it was, in fact, his community with his father and many other family members living there. Change anything for you?

I saw that rumor. I'm pretty sure it's baseless. The guy said a US Marshall told him. I'm not sure what a Marshall would know about jury deliberations in suburban Wisconsin.

Could be true that one or more are afraid, but I'm pretty sure the guy made it up.

It's the pizzagate guy, who hung out with Richard Spencer - definitely made up. The guy knows easy marks when he sees them....

Good ole MSNBC is now banned from the courthouse because someone who works for them tried to follow a juror home. The person has been arrested.

Wisconsin knows a thing or two about intimidation. Kenosha is about halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee (which is only barely 90 minute drive) so plenty of winners willing to show up to bully and intimidate. When the Wisconsin capital was ransacked it was mostly imported agitators from Illinois - how dare they make teachers pay for some of their health insurance! Unions in the area have an old school bent to them, not afraid to get their hands dirty.
