Patrick Holmes (former ND student, Men’s basketball student manager, and son of the longtime academic advisor for the basketball team Pat Holmes) finally helping his mentor land a big fish from the power house he coaches at.

I assume he is a good get. I do not know the first thing about B-ball recruiting. Welcome JJ!

No denying that I've been openly critical of Brey's recruiting efforts/results lately. This one should get the needle moving though. This a great get and hopefully it is the shot in the arm this program needs. They should be set for a few years with Sterling, Wesley, and JR.

I agree that is a great core to build the future on but it is all backcourt. Need some talented length if you want to compete in the ACC. Dom Campbell looks like a banger but 6-8 is going to need some taller help. The portal changes so much but hard to ignore this gaping hole in the roster - unless you are the loosest coach in America BABY!

Huge pickup for Brey and the BB program. Give him the keys to the offense day 1. Who else are they after for the 22 class?

Updated Starling ratings for all 3 services now has him as the #33 player in the class and the highest ranked recruit for ND ever, just ahead of Demetrius Jackson.

Playing on ESPN2 right now vs Oak Hill. JJ only had 2 pts in the 1st half, but it was a nice dunk. Also had a steal and a couple of nice assists. I'm surprised how little JJ has handled the ball...but they have a stud PG in Jeremy Fears (MSU commit) that has had the ball in his hands a lot so far and another guard Aden Holloway ('23 recruit with an ND offer) that has shot lights out with 16 1st half pts.

JJ is really coming alive in the second half. Made a couple 3's in rhythm, a driving layup and a really nice fadeaway jumper. His shot looks really good. Really looking forward to seeing him, Blake Wesley and Dane Goodwin next year in the same backcourt!
