'21 NC RB Will Shipley (Clemson Verbal)

So where is ND in the national pecking order for RB and what does that say? I am not sure there is any positive way to spin this. ND gambled and they lost. If they cant beat other schools for a recruit, it was either bad planning, bad recruiting or a bad product. Either way, not a good look. Time will tell if that is the case.

I think Covid played a part in this recruitment. To what extent we will never know. Can we land a blue chip RB? Yep, already have and will again. Would love to see someone already in the running back room throw down a thousand yard season.

Donovan Edwards and LJ Johnson are very very good alternatives to Shipley. Honestly they should’ve done like most schools are recruited all 3 incredibly hard and told them whoever wants into the class will get the spot. Many many other schools do that. Anyway, the past is the past, I hope they get a big time RB. Don’t really care who it is as long as they are big time.

This is terribly short-sighted. Will looks fast but Georgia's defense looks impenetrable. I bet Will puts up big numbers over the next 3-4 months barring injury. He's going to wreck some teams.

Georgia is legit with that defense, they we locked in.

He’s getting so much PT because Clemson doesn’t have much at RB. It’s a little different for Clemson when Trevor Lawrence isn’t there to save the day.

In South Bend, he’d be 3rd strong at best in 2021.

I might be somewhere in between. Travis Etiene didn’t look like much against ND with the same QB but looked more as advertised with the #1 player in the country. Clemson maybe just isn’t that good.

I think I came out very much in the middle of both these reactions. I don’t really care Shipley is getting PT already, the Clemson RB room is mediocre. I also think he will look good in games moving forward and we may have better in 2021 but will be seeing Mr. Shipley in the years ahead give us a sour taste

Clemson has problems, and those problems are definitely hindering Shipley but like how Kyren and Tyree get theirs in the pass game, think you’d have expected Clemson and Shipley to find some way to make a bigger difference than that since they already handed him the keys to the car.

Leg was planted and straight d lineman rolled through it while bringing down the QB. Couldn't put weight on it walking off.
