I figured this is how this would end. I do used once he got the Clemson offer it was game over. I know all of you disagree with me, but this feels like Keith Marshal 2.0. Likes what Notre Dame offers but will always go to their “dream school” Georgia and in this case Clemson.

I'd keep in contact with him and trying to get him to visit.
Edit: Actually never mind, I just read the 247 commitment article. ND were never in it.
Can you summarize?

Loooves Dabo - loves winning - would have committed to Clemson straight away except for the rule that he cant flirt with other school - wanted to flirt to make certain of his Clemson feeling - deep down always knew - I think he referred to all the other schools as marbles to look under or something. It didn't sound like it was a hard decision for him.
All this is fine, but why did the staff think they were in it so much that they weren't looking elsewhere? I reckon it is a total rookie mistake on Taylors part.

When he'll step on campus there will be 6 other RB's. He is also the 2nd RB in their class. ND did so much work on him....hate to see this one go for the other team.

Well, Clemson used to be like us. So maybe this gives us hope that we can get to their level in time.

Should tell you all you need to know about where we stand as a program, specifically with recruiting, vs Clemson. Re-read what irishandy just said -- one of 7 RBs, 2nd in this class alone and Shipley STILL preferred that over our painfully mediocre RB corps where he would have stood to be the man almost immediately. Sad really.

Tyree is gonna be fun to watch, no doubt, but make no bones about it -- Tyree does not fill the same needs Shipley would have.

A 1-2 punch with Tyree and Shipley would've been fun to watch!

Lmao watch Tyree be an all-american and Shipley get beat out by an unheralded 3-star.

Yep, really looking forward to seeing Tyree get a lot of ball.

Taylors recruiting has been an error riddled fail so far so this year and he didn't exactly get a lot out of the RBs last season, so he has got some catching up to do. Getting everything out of Tyree will go a long way.

what? I am innocent here. I only said:
1. I am looking forward to Tyree
2. Taylor's RB recruiting this year has been a horrible fail and
3. The RBs last year were not very good and most of them did not progress under him.

With running backs I generally assume they can get better at some things but a lot of that has to just be instinct.

If you give him average guys to work with he ain't gonna fix that I dont think.

A great offensive line helps too. Quinn certainly hasn’t proven himself yet either. It’s pretty apparent the O Line has to take some of the blame for the poor run game as well, especially in short yardage.

Hope his decision works out for him. For us, go find the best next best candidate(s). Move on, onward to Victory.

Find a better RB, not the next best. Get LJ Johnson and you'll never think about Shipley again.

My guess is he called Clemson last week and let them know he was 95% in. Called ND reporters and ND yesterday to thank them and not blindside them.

Best of luck kid don't get banged up and our door is always open-sounds like a Notre Dame man with that call to Irish

Honest question... Being we just offered him last week, do you really think there's even a whiff of a chance? I can't see him not going to the SEC.
