So PSG won't sell Mbappe to Real knowing he'll walk for free in a year, so Real does this. Takes a top PSG target (was also coveted by Man United, but whatever).

And honestly, that fee is a steal, even with add ons. Wow. Most expensive teenager ever.

Hardcore.

Yeah, Man U wanted him, but everything I read said he wants either PSG or Madrid. Madrid got a steal here. Kid is a stud and he'll only get better.

I'm a little disappointed they wouldn't shell out the 35 million for Neves. Instantly betters the team. But whatever.

Also, Rogue, I watched the Chelsea game. Elliot is the real deal, super impressed by him.

I don't know who is dumber: Real for making the Mbappe bid or PSG for not accepting it. So it goes.

Camavinga is a very good player based on what very little I have seen of him. The potential is there and he's going to a bigger club in La Liga as opposed to coming to England where they're "letting them play" this year. Should be interesting to see when he starts to make his mark on the International level too.

That Man United midfield should make you sick. It makes me sick and I'm a Liverpool supporter. They are a #6 away from being a force. And a manager.

Yes, Elliott is the goods. We knew this after his season on loan last year with Blackburn. For Klopp to trust him in a game of that magnitude last weekend says a lot about just how good he really is. Even when he made mistakes, he recovered very quickly.

I like to think Ole plays Fred to show the higher ups just how horrid our "best" option is. Some fans have thought to use Lindelof there until McTominay gets better and I'm not entirely opposed to the idea. It just can't get much worse than what it is now.

Once CR7 is in the lineup McTominay is their only play at a solitary holding MF. Id have Bruno and Pogba infront of him as 3 MF with CR7 up top and whatever two wide forwards they can put out there.

I would have liked to have seen Liverpool add another attacker because I think they need one, but I'm glad they didn't just sign a player they really don't need just for the sake of doing it. United did this with Ronaldo. I completely understand why they did it. I think it's not logical in the end.

Disappointed Liverpool didn't bring in another attacker, but not surprised.

Sees Carter Vickers to Celtic is final,… immediately researches how to handle erections lasting longer than 12 hours,…. I’m proactive,….

Yea I was hoping to see Celtic grab an American this window. CV should fit in nicely with their backline. Unfortunate result last weekend, but I feel Celtic should make a strong run to top the league with all the moves they’ve made. A+ transfer window.

Not sure why this thread seems to be a majority of Liverpool fans. I don’t have a premier league squad I care about, but if I did it would surely be Everton.

McTominay might be the most important player on the team at this point. The more he plays, the better they will be.

Agree though, the back four is set, ideally McTominay, Pogba, Bruno. Then it's just who is fresh and how big the game is with who's up top and on the wings.

Looking like a tough side

Griezmans wages were like 800k/week and Barca are loaning him back with an option to buy for 40 mil.

If they offloaded him earlier could Barca have kept Messi? Either way Barca has been horendously wasteful in the transfer market.

I just received Simon Kuper's new book about Barcelona. Really looking forward to reading it.

It doesn't seem like all that long ago Messi, Neymar and Suarez won Champions League. I can't help but think that their splashing all that money on Coutinho changed so many fortunes as well. Liverpool flipped that money into Virgil and Allison. The rest is history.

The second leg of that Champions League Semifinal at Anfield was the last hurrah, and I think they all knew it too. They won the Copa del Rey last season but apart from that they have not been the same. It's a shame. They had a good method of doing things but thought they needed to be like the rest to keep up. It hasn't gone anywhere near well for them at all.

They still owe Liverpool ike 35-40 mil for Coutihno plus a ton of other money to other teams (126 mil to 19 teams). His intial deal was for around 120 mil. His weekly salary is approx $530k. Found this in an article....

While I'm largely ignorant to financing in European football...that certainly doesn't SOUND ideal.

I’m almost certain when Couts was loaned to to Bayern he scored twice when he played against Barcelona and triggered a bunch of addons that befitted Liverpool. Lmao

His career fell off the map and when he left, Liverpool could no longer play everything through him, so the ball went everywhere which got them to a Champions League Final. It was amazing all the doom and gloom upon his departure.

Emre Can, too. Left on a free and haven't heard much about him since.

Anyway, Barcelona is a complete mess. They fell into the Chelsea/PSG/City trap. I look at them, I look at Arsenal, even look at Man United and I don't freak when Liverpool only buy one player in a summer window. Between all the kids playing FIFA and the pundits glorifying the money being spent, more people care about the transfer windows than the actual games. I'm always glad when it's over.

I mean, if you enjoy things that are painful and tiresome, that's without question the club for you.

Yesterday during that Portugal vs Ireland match, Bruno stepped aside and Ronaldo took a PK. You could see the look on Bruno's face, almost as if he knows now that his stat padding days are indeed on hiatus until CR7 retires. LOL

As a Liverpool supporter I respect Celtic, Dortmund, Newcastle and Olympiacos a great deal. (I love Stevie G. but I can't bring myself to really fully support Rangers. Celtic is a great "ally" club to LFC.) I feel for Newcastle fans because they are not at all a plastic group of supporters. St. James Park is sold out no matter what. Those fans are beyond loyal and deserve better than their current twat owner.

Just a great club and great supporters in a great working class town. I hope they can stay up and finally get sold.

Why Dortmund? Just asking cause I also like them. For me it’s because they aren’t a massive spending club like all the other major powers or the entire premier league. Also helps that both Pulisic and Reyna got their starts there.

For each of the leagues: Celtic, Dortmund, Philly Union, Marseille, Everton and I guess Venezia (lol). La Liga is my favorite league but I’m not partial to any of the teams strongly, although excited to watch Hoppe there now, and I think he will do well.

My family is predominately Scottish/German. So Celtic,… and from there any other team had to have a good relationship with Celtic, and not be some team that you can just heartlessly jump on,… so Newcastle because apparently everyone has to have an English pub league team,… and Dortmund for my German side it is. Both fit the above well.
