Saw reports earlier that it was up to him if he was staying or going and that he was expected to take it soon.

Don't see how it improves City that much, they have an abundance of attacking midfielders. They'll still go out and get Kane too.

Also, Chelsea is doing everything they can to get Lukaku, something like offering 130 million and Marcos Alonso.

England is an insanely deep team, but I feel like some of the player choices were political; see Jadon Sancho not seeing the field until his transfer was announced.

Chelsea getting Lukaku would be the biggest net gain in the Premier League. They struggled to have anyone put the ball in the net for them.

Which is a complete 180 from what I thought they'd be doing. After the offensive overhaul last offseason, I figured they'd outscore teams. Then Werner got a case of the yips, Havertz didn't play as well as thought, and Ziyech... well he might have played well? Not sure. Pairing those guys up with Mount, Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi, and Abraham had me a bit worried at the beginning of the season.

They still have some vulnerability at the back, which is where I figured they'd want to continue to strengthen, but they want that striker up top it seems.

We've seen this story with Chelski FC over and over. Tuchel gets a full year now for either him to wear on Little Vlady or vice versa. You just know it's going to go bad as soon as a rough patch hits.

You are right, abundance was not the correct word. However, adding Grealish in to get time with KDB, Gundogan, and Foden (and Silva unless they offload him) is quite an insane amount of talent for 2 spots. Without any injuries, how much time does he get in the PL? When healthy, you always play KDB, he's world class. Gundogan was a monster last year, Foden is one of the best young talents in the PL.

Kane is hurting himself, but maybe he just wants to get out of Tottenham that bad. I only see City being rumored to be wanting him (that can afford him), it'll be interesting to see if he doesn't leave and how he handles himself having to stay another year.

City has better depth and resources than anyone in England. I think you're fine with the word abundance. There isn't any pundit or social media slouch out there that is going to have sympathy for City's depth. Envy for sure.

The incoming of Grealish and Kane being met with any significant outgoing players sold would be the story here. Something significant, though, like Sterling going for $90M. I fully expect them to add these two players into the current squad they have. City isn't a selling club because they can afford to pay their players good wages, can afford any transfers they want and have a manager guys want to play for. Wages and the manager are the keys. When you get to be a club that buys and doesn't sell, you'll be competitive for years.

Harry Kane will lose his virginity to a prostitute the Robin Van Persie way. City, PSG, wherever.

I think City beginning this year will only use Foden on the wing of the front three (or False 9 when Injuries dictate) with the addition of Grealish.
That would give them four players for two wing spots. (Sterling, Mahrez, Foden, Torres)

I agree that if Bernardo stays, then we will have too much talent for two openings. KDB, Grealish, Ilkay, Bernardo, Foden there when necessary. That is why I think they will try and sell Bernardo for a fair fee. If they cannot get anything less then 70m for him, then I would hold onto him. However, I really don't think four top players for two spots when you're challenging on four separate trophy fronts is that insane, but I understand it is not a luxury 95% of European clubs have because of the worst governing body rule ever created the infamous FFP.

Kane is 28 and odds on to finish his career as the highest PL goal scorer ever (baring injury). He deserves to do what is best for him, he owes Spurs nothing at this point. It is not his fault that they have surrounded him with sub-par singings the past five seasons and terrible manager appointments in Jose Mourinho, and now their fifth choice in Nuno Santo who just got fired from Wolves for heavens sake.

It was reported that Villa offered to pay Jack more to stay then what City offered him...but go on spewing what B/S you want about ever player that comes to City/PSG are just doing it for a paycheck. I am sure everyone goes to Liverpool because they grew up idolizing Kenny Dalglish....

Kane wants to win trophies. He can win domestic cups with City and PSG. They happen to have better financial resources than most.

Kane, as a captain and leader, leaves a tremendous amount to be desired for me.

Sam Vines showed really well at LB in the Gold Cup and it earned him a move from the Rapids to Royal Antwerp. They got 2nd in the Belgian league last year so this is a pretty significant move.

Grealish's actual market value is probably closer to $70M. He's worth more to Villa, so the fee ends up $100M, and present day you have no more than a handful of clubs that are willing/can afford to pay that. Even prior to Covid, but especially now.

Neto from Wolves or ASM from Newcastle would come for a third of that price. They're both younger left wingers, not English, but are perfectly capable players that would fit most of the Top Four clubs in England no better or worse than Grealish.

Or you can go attacking midfield and get Olmo or Odegaard for half of $100M. Leicester should be licking their chops right now if anyone comes knocking for James Maddison.

It's crazy where the market has gone and where it continues to go.

They're going to need more than $40M and a bag of crisps. $70M but you can assume Leicester will say "he's worth _____ more to us."

Based on this Grealish fee City are paying, I'd be asking top dollar for Maddison. I don't care if he has one cap for England. He's going to get more. More goal and assist production for a club that has finished higher in the table too.

I don't know what Arsenal's situation is as far as what they are willing to spend this window, but I think their best bet is going to be a build like Klopp did at Dortmund and Liverpool. Arteta has to find the young, hungry guys that are affordable and somewhat off the radar to build up a new team with a new mentality. Arsenal has been an Entourage episode for way too long now.

I mean... The thing about Arsenal is they're always trying to walk it in. The other main issue is who they spend money on and at what price. I like Ben White, but spending that much money on him when there is a need at RB, CM, CDM, and ST is what angers mean. Now they are chasing after Maddison, AFTER they probably could have put a bid in for Grealish last year for a lower price than he's going for this year. They also had Odegaard on loan, really could have pushed for a permanent deal then, but didn't want to negotiate with Real.

Not that I can really ever see Foden leaving Man City, but if he lives up to his potential Chelski will 100% bid over 200MM for him.

I'd have Odegaard at LFC under Klopp in a second. Neat player.

How do they not win everything, every game? Hopefully, too many big names, too many conflicts, ie France Euro 2021...

PSG own Ligue 1. Their goal is, and should be, Champions League. Same as Citah. Both clubs have clearly proven that regardless of who their manager is they are the domestic front runners of their respective leagues. Anything less than Champions League for both is a severe disappointment. I would not say failure, but disappointment clearly. Messi should trounce France and with the additions PSG have already made they should win their domestic silverware easily. All comes down to what they do on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

I'd put Bayern Munich and Juventus in this boat as well. They have clearly established they are the national team in their respective countries. They should be competing for Champions League and anything less is disappointing. Bayern is the only one of the four to have won it recently. Or at all.

Citah play in the Premier League which is the toughest of the lot. They've had the depth to endure the cold nights at Burnley or Stoke while playing deep into the Leauge and FA Cups. France, Spain, Italy, Germany just are not as difficult.

Agreed, but I have to think City has to get Kane at this point. Looking at PSG, Bayern could give them a run for their money, but City have the best chance at stopping them.

If bernardo and/or gabby goes I'd have a hard time believing city won't get kane done. But it's gonna be extremely difficult to sell to LA liga right now.
