'22 SC LB Jaylen Sneed (Notre Dame Signee)

Yeah. Going way back to the spring I was out there in the area on vacation & have another buddy out there who mentioned that the local coaches thought Sneed was a camp warrior & soft when he put the pads on. So I was curious and watched his film & he definitely looked a completely different player in pads. So I mentioned that to a couple buddies & one said he knows the AD out there who is a ND guy & on the boards, but doesn’t post. And that AD thought Sneed would dominate at the camps over the summer (which he did), but was not what people thought he was.
Then last week (I believe Tuesday) he finally posted on the board & said Sneed committed to a coaching staff that day. When people asked him who he was, he just committed he was very close with Sneed’s entire athletic department. When you look at his name, he indeed is an AD out there. Then he was asked to elaborate on his view & he said he didn’t want to say anything bad about Sneed because he likes him & thinks he’s a great kid, but questioned him at ND.

I’ll have to watch his film again and focus on this. I’ve only ever really paid attention to his athleticism and speed, which is obviously very distracting from everything else.

I would hope that even if this is the case, he can become more physical this season and in college, because you can not coach his athleticism.

The exact same thing was said about Jeff Burris when he decided to leave the state and play for Holtz. SC people hate losing elite kids to out of state schools and it’s just sour grapes

Everybody is entitled to their opinion but I can watch the film and see for myself that I don’t think he lacks physicality.

His coach, who knows Freeman, moves him from LB to the DL last year but he’s soft? Or, lacks physicality? It doesn’t add up.

I hope he is an elite All American LB at ND.

No, Moss would be a great pickup for the Irish to add to the defensive haul. I am still shocked that Oregon landed a Texas receiver, but Oregon has done a better job in recruiting the past couple of years. I'd rather have Merriweather over Anderson. When he commits ND will have a nice duo at LB with Sneed/JR.

Long before he ever posted or said anything about Sneed, he had conversations with other ND guys & a mutual friend told me about him. His screen name is his actual name. He is in Blufton, SC, which is the town next to Hilton Head.

It's also noteworthy that Freeman has been recruiting him for 3 years. He was the first to offer him, as a Freshman, when Freeman was at Cincy. So, this is a very well vetted eval here folks. Make no mistake about that.

My slightest concern is him mentioning that he grew up a Ducks fan. On the other hand, those closer to being in the know haven’t been changing their CB’s. I believe this one is wrapped up. Can’t wait to know for sure.
