The original Batman game on the NES was amazing...

But hard as a mofo. Pretty much Diet Ninja Gaiden.

TMNT was great as was the original Batman. Both games I could get to a certain point and never get past it. Still had a blast.

Definitely buying the "new" console. The nostalgia is too strong not to.

What games exactly are included in the 30 package? That will make my decision.

The code for Tyson and the Contra code have to be the most memorized codes ever in video game history.

One code would give you tons of lives... The other would take life from you super quick... Lol

Best original Nintendo game Ever!

Tecmo Super Bowl is the best video game ever made on any system. Period. It was the first sports game that could track stats, and offer a full season.

Yes. Also the first football game that had a license from both the NFL and the NFLPA so they could use real teams and names.

They need to do this with an N64 and put Smash Bros, Goldeneye, and Mario Cart on there. They'd sell one to every dorm room in america.

I bought a used Nintendo system for my son he was about five. He'd been playing Duck Hunt and what was probably the original Mario Brothers with his older cousin. I had no interest in buying him a game system and adjunct games.

But: he was proud of his scores in the hunting game. Positive on Eye-Hand coordination.

That he showed an ability to remember and then extrapolate and anticipate was a plus and led me to cough up the bucks.

We played many games together and eventually completed and "won"almost all of them.

Silver Surfer was a glaring exception. It cost me a bit of coin to replace controllers I destroyed in frustration.

Astroids wasn't originally for the Nitendo but may be the best ever. The eye & hand coordination and reflexes it required made it tough to beat.

I don't know.. I don't think so, the entire system looks, judging from the pictures, to be about the size of the old carts...

This. I would totally get this thing if it could play old carts too, then I would have a backup when my top loader NES eventually bites the dust. As such it's an expensive emulator to me (Expensive since emulators are free).

Underrated game I doubt many played... Back to the Future

NOOOO! I wouldn't call it underrated...it's kind of awful  Why does Marty throw bowling balls? When was Marty dodging men walking with glass panes? Killer bees? When was Marty throwing milkshakes at bullies in the cafe? I mean, some of the scenes are somewhat similar to the movie, but a lot of what is in the game makes you scratch your head. Not to mention the awful music.

That game is terrible. Pretty much anything published by LJN is awful.

This. LJN is synonymous with crappy video games...especially crappy video game adaptations of movies. The only decent LJN game I can think of is WWF Royal Rumble, but some people would even disagree with that one.

Has anyone mentioned RIVER CITY RANSOM yet?

YES. One of my favorites. Perfect mix of a beat-em-up and RPG. I wish it was longer though.

Mike Tyson's Punchout.
Code for Tyson - 007-373-5963
Can't believe I still remember that.

My 5 year old daughter knocked out Glass Joe recently. I had tears in my eyes. Another one of my favorites.

Silver Surfer is atrocious, I sympathize. I couldn't beat any of the levels, I challenge someone to do so without cheats or emulator save states.

I doubt it, unless Nintendo has built a time machine too.

Sadly most of the kids in dorm rooms right now were toddlers or weren't even born during the peak years of the N64. That's crazy to think, mind bottling.

It's too difficult for me to pick the best game....I love Tecmo Bowl, Jackal, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, Double Dragon 2, Ninja Gaiden, T&C surf Designs, River City Ransom, Toobin' and I can go on and on but I also love some of the simple classics like Mario Bro's 1/2/3, Tetris, Duck Hunt, Dr. Mario.

Also, this new miniature Nintendo with 30 games is about the best news I've heard in my life.

This thread should never die. Where's ulukinatme?
Jaws was awesome.
RCR- awesome.
Friday the 13th, ehhh.
Paperboy was too damn hard.

I don't check new threads often enough.

Some games that may not have been mentioned:

Basewars - Possibly the greatest baseball game every made. Baseball with robots...you're never automatically out if you're tagged at base, robots do battle instead (Occasionally to the death, with a big explosion) to see if you're out or not. During a season you get $$$ to upgrade robot parts and weapons.

Dragon Warrior/Quest series and Final Fantasy - Revolutionary, and they've stood the test of time. Newer games in each series...not so much.

Super Dodge Ball - great game to play with buddies. Watch out for Team India's Swami, he can take balls to the face like Kim Kardashian.

Fire and Ice - I'm not one for puzzle games typically, but this one isn't bad. Gotta move a little gnome guy around and extinguish fires with your magic, some cool concepts here and really makes you think.

Blades of Steel - I preferred this one to Ice Hockey, although I honestly never played much of the later.

Wizard and Warriors II: Ironsword. The one with Fabio on the cover.

Crystalis - A Zelda rip-off, but it was pretty fun.

Kid Icarus

Little Nemo: The Dream Master

Most of the Mega Man games, but probably 2 because it gets mentioned the most.

R.C. Pro Am

Rampage

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

Willow

Tengen Tetris - Because it was better than Nintendo's version.

Base wars was very cool, one of the first games you'd earn ep and build up your team with it...

Baseball Simulator 2000 on NES was like that too... Both were super fun.
