Anyone want to give be an evaluation of his play this year. Feel like I rarely hear his name even though he has started every game. Cant remember him making any major mistakes but can't remember any huge plays he's made either.
Squeaky wheel gets the grease I think. Onwualu hasn't appeared to be causing any problems for our defense, he's a quiet contributor. He's tied for 7th on the team for tackles, 12 tackles back from Schmidt. I'm surprised KVR is #2, you can tell teams are picking on him much more than they did in 2013.

I've said it since last year - he's the only player besides an OL that I don't know is playing well or not, lol. I guess being unnoticed is a good thing, it's just weird that his performance isn't apparent. I could go down the line and give you a strong opinion on every starter outside of maybe Martin/Elmer/Nelson/Onowuala.

Any update on his knee?
No surgery, 2nd degree MCL sprain, out for BC game. Per Kelly's Sunday teleconference.
Which is about the best we could have hoped for. Martini probably would have started, or played more for BC anyway.
Against BC you need the beef.
This will give Onwualu a chance at healing and being fresh for Stanford and McCaffrey.
Anyone that doesn't thing James Onwualu wouldn't make it in the top fifty OLB's in the nation based upon his performance is kidding themselves. Check all the pro scouting info. They love him.

I think he is a candidate to have a big senior year.
"James Onwualu got in the weight room this summer. Will attempt to deliver photo evidence later."

i like this. A jacked up James would be nice. He was undersized so....
I showed my rental today to a kid who was a freshman at Cretin when James was a senior. His brother was in James' class and a good friend.
Cool story...
