"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Everyone knows the intent of this clause was to have armed militia ready to defend the country if need be. If you want to be consistent with the intent of that clause, then require gun purchasers to sign up for the militia when purchasing an assault weapon or other weapon of military grade. Then when the next war begins, mobilize that militia and send them into action. There would be no need for ever re-instating a draft. Just call on this armed militia.

Center for Security Policy President, Frank J. Gaffney, Jr., observed:

The findings of the Center for Security Policy’s survey of Muslims in America suggests that we have a serious problem. The Pew Research Center estimates that the number of Muslims in the United States was 2.75 million in 2011, and growing at a rate of 80-90 thousand a year. If those estimates are accurate, the United States would have approximately 3 million Muslims today. That would translate into roughly 300,000 Muslims living in the United States who believe that shariah is “The Muslim God Allah’s law that Muslims must follow and impose worldwide by Jihad.”

This is from an article based on that Pew Research Poll of beliefs of Muslims living in the US. Even if off by half that is a scary number.

Clinton Has 12-Point Edge Over Trump in Bloomberg National Poll - Bloomberg Politics

Pretty bad for the #NeverHillary people.

Pre-Orlando FWIW. Who knows if either will see a boost.

Damn. 12 point edge seems a bit much, but Trump is definitely trending down after seeming to have a major surge after winning the primary season.

New poll has him up to a 70% unfavorability rating, and 89% among Hispanics (yikes!). For a guy who said (in 2013) that Romney choked the election away because he was mean-spirited to Latinos and lost their votes, he sure has done a phenomenal job of being mean-spirited to Latinos and seems to have lost their votes at an unprecedented clip. The bigoted remarks about the judge must not have helped.

Hillary at 55% overall – still unbelievably bad and yet still somehow better than Trump. Amazing how these two found the only person in America that they could possibly beat lol.

In his defense, this poll has a plus/minus of 3.5 points, and any poll not at 3 or below is suspect in many pollsters’ eyes.

Corbin Reiff, a US Army Sargent who spent 5 years in Iraq arbitrating requests for compensation from those collaterally damaged by our military operations, responded to Trump's recent assertion that such soldiers are likely "living very well" right now:

naw, it will all be good, and work itself out. after all, people are basically good and things happen for a reason. everything will be just fine in the years to come, just like national health care and social security... we shouldn't worry about practical things. it's all about making people feel good and saying the right thing.

You're right, there could be 300,000 people out there intrigued by the idea of shooting up a ____ and they have incredibly easy access to the weaponry to pull it off.

We're at war with radical Islam and some people in this country don't want to act like it by agreeing that we could do more to keep guns out of the hands of the bad guys.

Wikileaks is going to be posting the clinton emails about 30,000-40,000 of them, and 21 emails found on her unsecured home-brew server were considered SAP confidential meaning beyond the normal scope of top secret and venturing into United States biggest secret programs.

Imo, a HRC indictment is the best possible scenario to the general election. People, including myself, hate her. People, including myself, also hate Trump. It's my opinion that the POTUS is basically a toss-up between two of the most hated primary victors in history. An indictment would almost certainly force the DNC to remove her from running thus choosing between putting Bernie up for election or going more moderate and rolling the dice with Joe Biden or someone similar. Imo, either Biden or Sanders would be better than Trump or HRC if given the choice.

an HRC indictment would make my decade. the state of both parties is so FUBAR it's embarrassing to our great country. Scary to think about the alternatives of Trump and Bernie, but I'm for anything that makes Americans do some soul searching about what most have been blindly backing. burn it all down.

I don't know about Biden, but I would vote Sanders over Trump.

To me, Sanders is someone who believes what he says, and doesn't seem to be all about the political establishment. I like that. His policy views however are batshit crazy, so no, would not vote for him.

I don't know about Biden, but I would vote Sanders over Trump.

I threw Biden's name out there because I honestly don't believe the establishment wants Sanders in office. It'd be a mistake circa the 1968 Dem Convention to insert Biden ahead of Sanders, but I wouldn't put it passed them.

A lot of people would probably agree with this as far as Bernie being genuine and trustworthy but completely disagreeing with his policies. It's a fair assessment. My "big picture" though is if this country wants to start seeing significant change (on either side of the isle), it must do something about the corruption in D.C. I think that's a point that most Americans agree with regardless of party affiliation. And Bernie is the person who's adamant and stubborn enough to fight it.

accurate fair description of Sanders, and calling his policies 'bat shit crazy' is being nice.
