It's an "uphill climb" either way, however, I'd like to play OKC because they seemed to do better against them during the regular season. It would be cool to revenge last years finals but really don't like how we match up against the Warriors. Hopefully we don't lay another egg in Toronto Friday...have about 15 guys coming to the house for the game.
If Steven Adams returns to his normal level of play, then I think the Cavs would win the series. If not, I'd give the Thunder the edge.

I honestly have no idea how good/bad Cleveland is. The East is terrible, but they have wrecked shit this playoffs.

Does your little 'homosexual underground' meeting take place before, during, or after the game?

LOL...Maybe I should have mentioned the wives are coming along as well. Though they tend to hang by the pool with the kids. Tough crowd!

Cleveland fans, who do you want to play in the finals this year?

OKC for sure. I don't know if it makes a big difference either way because both teams are great, but it seemed to me like GSW were in the Cavs heads.

Can't find an NBA playoff thread so will post here...this OKC GS game 4th quarter should be fun. It is hard to say...if I were a Cleveland fan, who do I want to face? Tough call

Cleveland seemed to handle OKC during the regular season. Durant and Westbrook are good, but I think Cleveland would rather face them. Better chance of repeating what they did against them in the regular season than to hope the Warriors don't return to their winning ways.

I agree, the Warriors would be toughest opponent for the Cavs.

But the regular season is yada yada, I'm not buying. I saw the Pistons beat the the Cavs three times this year.

First things first...the Cavs have to come out balling tonight in Toronto. It has been incredible how poorly the road team has played in this series. Hoping it doesn't come down to game seven.

The home court advantage in NBA playoffs is ridiculous. I dont even watch the games because I can tell you with 90% certainty who will win based on where they're playing. I mean, there's been 10 conf-final games total, and 1 road win, right? And those wins aren't even close 90% of the time. Thunder actually went for it last night and came close. They're more gritty than I thought. From watching that series, Russel Westbrook > KD.

I guess Cleveland had 8 home games in a row in the first two rounds of the playoffs?

I think Cleveland closes it out tonight on the road.

I know he said the playoffs, maybe he meant the conference finals on...?

Cleveland still hasn't played anybody good in the playoffs. Pacers should have taken Toronto out in the first round with a half way decent coach.

Obviously talking only conference finals, as that's the first series in a playoff where there are actually 2 good teams (unless you're the East), playing each other. I don't expect a 7 seed to beat a 2 at home.

I think home-court advantage is much higher in the playoffs, which is probably related to comfort level, attendance, intensity, etc.

This website provides historical data for 7 game series in the major sports leagues.

I'd love to see that stat for conference finals games, where the teams are actually evenly matched. As is, of course it'll be skewed by an 8/7 pounding a 1/2 in both conferences every single year. This conf finals, away teams are 1-9.

Yeah, maybe. Still, I'm not sure you can just conclude that the Conference Finals are an automatic win for the home team. Obviously more often than not you're going to have two decent teams facing off in the Conference Finals, but that's no guarantee home team wins. I mostly just found it fascinating that Koon says he doesn't watch the games but decided to weigh in all the same. Seemed like par for the course.

Without watching the game it's pretty easy to look at the box score, see who won (home teams 9, road teams 1), and see how close the games are by looking at the score being 111 to 64 and conclude that home teams are cleaning house in the conference finals.

This year might be a little skewed with the East being so watered down. I do think it will balance out a bit in the next two game sixes with both road teams winning. And then possibly OKC winning a game 7 on the road...might happen??

I think at least one road team finishes their next game, guess is the Cavs. When they play hard Toronto cannot beat them. IDK about GSW, although a loss, the Thunder were hungry last night and they have more heart and not just talent than I thought. Russell Westbrook is a dog.

This. I think Barkley is right in some respects. The NBA isn't quite as good as it once was. This has not been the playoffs from my youth, these scores have been incredibly lopsided.

Westbrook is impressive for sure...still think GS takes one game on the road. I just don't think the champs are going out with a fight. Being down 1-3 may have brought the 73 game winners back down to reality a bit.

Last night was 1 of 2 conf finals games I've watched, and defensively (felt like GSW had 100 steals) and offensively (shooting), GSW could not have played any better IMO, and the Thunder were still right there on the road and it was a close game. GSW isn't replicating that at Oklahoma, I really think they go down next game. I think the Thunder are ready.

I'll throw vbucks on it if you're interested. I haven't vbuck bet in ages.

Vwhat? Ok, Vwhatever. :) I'll put it all on GS in game 6 as long as I can still pay my Vmortgage.

I wouldn't even know how to pay that out if GS lost.

I don't want to take your vHouse. 400,000,000 on Thunder in game 6 if you want it.
