I bet Robinson is a Bernie Sanders guy.

Not trying to assume too much, but Robinson comes from a military family. Just going on percentages, I would doubt that he supports a Socialist.

I thought I would embed it.

This is a kid who in own humility says he really can't sing!

I think he is not too shabby, also.

How many languages does he speak? What is his GPA at ND? Who won Student Body President in an overwhelming landslide? Who is an Academic All American? Who picks a mean banjo? Who is personable and engaged with everyone he meets? Who almost single-handedly started a non-profit, high visibility charity to collect clothing for he needy?

This guy :

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The Admiral David Robinson's son Corey performs the National Anthem!! &#55356;&#56826;&#55356;&#56824;<a href="https://t.co/tB1hVvYLZE">https://t.co/tB1hVvYLZE</a></p>— Milwaukee Bucks (@Bucks) <a href="https://twitter.com/Bucks/status/716769544446959617">April 3, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I don't care what his politics, or who he supports this election cycle.

If he ever runs for office, anywhere, I will support him. I may go out of his way to volunteer for his campaign, even if that means relocating, for a while.

And if he runs for president, you will see my smiling face out in the streets canvasing and volunteering for any job, to help him get elected.

seems like with the reports in regards to his concussion that it might be pretty conceivable that that he doesn't play football in the future.

does anyone know off the top of their head how many diagnosed concussions that gives him?

I think 3? He is seeing the same doctor that advised Conor Hanratty to retire after he had 3 (reported)

Kelly is quoted as saying two. But that doesn't account for any medical history prior to ND, nor does it delineate whether, or how bad Corey suffers from Post Concussion Syndrome. With kids, and young adults, growth isn't complete. Depending on what is where, some may suffer tremendously from PCS, while others, that may have worse initial trauma, don't have anywhere near the symptoms.

Someone who has a second concussion, while suffering PCS should really think about hanging it up permanently. Much as I love Corey and hate to see him go, I have learned it isn't worth that cost.

I actually hope Corey hangs it up. Not because I don't like him as a player, I do, he just has so many gifts and so much to offer off the field that I don't want to see hom risk it all for one more season of football.

There isn't really anything that can realistically happen to him on the football field that would jeopardize his career after football. So I'm not sure what him sitting out accomplishes.

Ummmm......maybe not immediately, however, there is a little known brain issue called CTE, of which has been linked to concussions, and brain trauma.

Except for more concussions. Maybe not his "career" immediately post-college, but his quality of life 20 years from now. I don't know, but if I'm him and at all worried about it, I'd probably hang it up now.

You guys are talking as if every single player should hang it up. Every single player has hopes beyond football. Corey Robinson is not the only football player in the world who wants to do stuff other than playing football.

He isn't going to be playing beyond college, and I don't think his position gets too many concussions relative to the other positions. I'm sure he'll be fine. He is a boss.

To be honest, Corey's got more going for him - financially, academically - than most. And he's probably not going to be a big-time NFL player. So at this point what's the upside for him?
But I'd generally support any player who feels like he's got what he wanted out of football - be it a quality degree, a solid rookie contract, or that second contract and big payday - quitting the game before it takes away his long-term quality of life.
The NFL, in particular, uses players and tosses them aside like it's nothing. These guys don't owe the sport their life.

One day soon former Michigan players will have to beg him for a job...delicious

I don't think Michigan kids have to beg for jobs, one of the top public school educations in the country

As far as Corey goes I love this kid and everything he represents for ND and just life in general. Truly a remarkable kid, that being said I would be surprised if I ever saw him play football at ND again. I hope he does but things are pointing in another direction. Now with ESB and Aliz'e taking more and more reps at the W writing is on the wall IMO. Hope I am wrong though, good luck with whatever you do Corey because you will continue to amaze us like you have already done.

I agree with you on the entire second paragraph. Reps, sir!

My question is if he will continue with the team like Folston, Zaire, Randolph, and etc., have done. Will he stick around to teach the younger kids tradecraft, and provide senior support? That's an interesting topic! Even to the point that he could dress and play sparingly, or not at all. I would hate to see him robbed of senior day, because he contributed as much as anybody, particularly one with a low three star rating, until he committed to ND.

As far as the beginning of your post :

I don't think Michigan kids* have to beg for jobs, one of the top public school educations in the country

* meaning non-athletes graduating with real degrees in real majors.

I don't care what anyone says, if you even check the NFL ratings of Wonderlic scores by team. Among the top colleges in placing NFL prospects, guess who hovers around the bottom of the list?

This means they really bend admission requirements, or they never teach their players through a four year bachelors program how to take a (standardized) test. Or they have a particularly low rate of graduation.

With everyone kissing Harbaugh's ass, this is one of the biggest issues I have with him. He was highly critical of Michigan doing this over the years, so much so as he was a persona non grata! Now? Everyone I have talked to, and everything I have read say nothing is changed.

I've been through TBI(Traumatic Brain Injury). I had a basilar artery aneurysm about 18 years ago. So please understand that I say this from first hand experience, not from some arrogant, aggressive vanity:

You have no idea what you are saying. The science of brain injury is, at best, incomplete. But there are a few certainties. Perhaps the biggest is that repeated brain trauma(a concussion is CERTAINLY brain trauma) significantly increases the odds of SERIOUS complications as you age. They are learning quite a bit about how the brain reacts to trauma, and how to diagnose the severity of the trauma. Not everyone who has a concussion has the same outcome, short term or long term. It can be like the difference between a bee sting and gangrene. Robinson now has 3(?) diagnosed concussions. If his doctors recommend that he hang up his cleats, then I hope he follows the advice of those experts.

No, I think it's more about the fact that Corey's dealing with his third concussion.

Once you go beyond three, that's when it really starts to get scary, at least according to what I've read. So it's not that every player should hang it up. It's that players with more instances of sever head trauma need to evaluate their options, which is what people have been discussing here, and why your original comment struck a nerve I think.
