There's a lot of delegates left to award. Bernie has won all but 4 counties, Clark, Thurston, Whatcom, and Yakima, and those counties haven't returned any results yet.

That's good, but Hillary would still be the first woman, unless you believe some of the conspiracy theorists! And remember, all from this list would need an Obama pardon! Except maybe Bernie.

On a serious note, I have met John Kasich, and more importantly, I know a bunch of folks who have been in meetings, briefings, etc., with the Governor, especially during the NWO water crisis two years ago, and he has no temperament for what the position entails. Trust me. Also, if you want to see how he would do as a Chief Executive, just look at what has happened to schools in the state of Ohio. He really is an idiot. I really don't care about the politics, or any of that. He certainly has a good team around him, and he relies heavily on them.

President he would be most like, fellow Ohioan, Warren G. Harding.

PS. Thanks for fixing Rubio's name. I wondered if anyone would catch that!

probably so to the bolded...

Strong turnout for Hawaii Democrats leads to confusion, frustration | Honolulu Star-Advertiser

By Kevin Dayton
March 26, 2016
Updated March 26, 2016 7:46pm

UPDATE 7:47 p.m

The latest estimate from the Democratic Party of Hawaii for full results from today’s presidential preference poll is 9 p.m. The party is not releasing partial results.

UPDATE 7:18 p.m

A Democratic Party of Hawaii spokeswoman says that they are running behind and now expect the full results to be released after 8 p.m.

UPDATE 4:40 p.m

Stephanie Ohigashi, chairwoman of the Democratic Party of Hawaii, said polls were kept open at half-hour intervals; if no one came in for half an hour, the poll closed.

As of 4:30 p.m., she was not aware of any polling places still open. Ohigashi said she did not know how many potential voters may have been turned away.

She said turnout for the presidential preference poll was comparable to 2008 when Hawaii-born Barack Obama was running for his first term.

Ohigashi reiterated that results will be released later tonight, possibly between 7 and 8 p.m., after all precincts have reported.

UPDATE 4:25 p.m

Polling sites for Hawaii Democrats’ presidential preference poll were closing throughout the afternoon as lines dwindled but some voters complained that the process was disorganized and confusing.

Polls opened at 1 p.m. with many sites reporting long lines. The Democratic Party of Hawaii, expecting a large turnout, had asked voters to get in line before the polls opened, and some potential voters who came later were disappointed.

Voting ended at 2:30 p.m. at Manoa Elementary School, which prevented Dr. Danelo Canete and his wife from voting. Canete, a Clinton supporter, said his son voted earlier in the afternoon, and reported that there were lines at the school. So, Canete and his wife decided to wait for a while to allow the lines to go down. When they reached the school at 2:34, they were told the voting was finished.

“There were a whole bunch of people who were very upset,” Canete said. “We were all kind of shaking our heads, like what happened?”

He said about a dozen people were told they could not vote at the school. “Nobody had put down a closing time, so we just thought we’d show up like good citizens and vote,” he said.

Ron Fitzgerald, 50, said he was told he couldn’t vote when he arrived at Highlands Intermediate around 2:45 p.m. because the polls were closed an hour and 45 minutes after they opened.

But Fitzgerald and others were then allowed to cast a provisional ballot and Democratic party officials later will decide whether to count those ballots, a precinct official said.

Highlands Intermediate closed its polls around 2:20 and officials shut the doors to the cafeteria around 3:15.

“It was really frustrating,” said Fitzgerald, a teacher and Pacific Palisades resident.

Party officials have said they do not plan to release today’s voting results until all precincts across the state have reported their tallies.

(PREVIOUS COVERAGE)

Hawaii Democrats headed to their precinct polling sites today for what party officials believe could be a record turnout for a party presidential preference poll here — perhaps even exceeding the huge crowds that gathered in 2008 to support Hawaii-born Barack Obama.

Voting began at 1 p.m. and early turnout was strong.

The contest this year between Vermont U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has generated voter turnout in some Western states that are running about 15 percent higher than 2008, and Hawaii Party Chairwoman Stephanie Ohigashi said the party is bracing for a similar surge in participation here.

Unofficial Hawaii Results Project Bernie Sanders Win Amid Mass Confusion At Polls

3/27/16
Reno Berkeley

Hawaii results are beginning to roll in and it’s looking good for Bernie Sanders. On Hawaii’s Big Island, Jarrod Burks shared an unofficial tally of votes from District Five. Bernie Sanders received a total of 806 votes while Clinton received only 255 votes.

Unlike Washington and Alaska, mainstream media news outlets are silent on Hawaii results. MSNBC, CNN, Fox News have yet to report any results from the Aloha state, despite several results posted online hours ago.

David Fry ‎@davidkfry
#HICaucus results from upcountry Maui. Haiku (13-2) B:898 H:108, Paia (13-1) B:143 H:27. Record turnout, landslide for Bernie. #Hawaii #Maui
12:43 AM - 27 Mar 2016 · Hawaii, USA, United States

Some voters in Hawaii experienced difficulty in getting access to their caucus locations, or finding them closed. Apparently, polls were supposed to be open until 6 p.m., but many closed earlier than that as the lines trickled off. Hawaii rules evidently dictate that polling locations may close if voters do not show up for 30 minutes.

According to the Honolulu Star Advisor, Democratic Party of Hawaii chairwoman Stephanie Ohigashi was aware of the problems but did not suggest any action would be taken. Indeed, she seemed to brush off these concerns when interviewed by local media.
“I’ve been informed that when they got there it was closed, and that could happen at smaller precincts. These are members of the party. They know what they’re doing. They’ve come to vote.”
Just before 8 p.m. local time (2 a.m. EDT) the Democratic Party of Hawaii announced on its Facebook page that officials had begun to count the votes.

The page was awash with angry voters with stories of being turned away at the polls by volunteers who had closed locations. The problem affected both Clinton and Sanders supporters. And in one case, a voter wrote about potential vote tampering by a precinct captain supporting Bernie Sanders.
“There was no clear distinction of when the polls were closing. This is an outrage. We had people still coming in to vote in district 34/35 and were being turned away because ‘we closed about five minutes ago, sealed the ballots and sent them away!'”
Another voter told of potential election fraud at a Kailua location with a precinct captain that favored Bernie Sanders.
“Precinct presidents were not following the rules…president for 2nd precinct at Kailua Elementary joked about only counting Bernie Sanders ballots; handed out ballots without checking to see if the people getting the ballots were checked in and registered, then he collected the ballots open-faced, in his hand, no ballot box anywhere to be found, no way to check that the person didn’t fill out more than one ballot. There is no way that the process was secure.”
Another voter decried the apparent rampant chaos witnessed at several locations throughout the island state.
“Democratic Party of Hawaii, my sister and her boyfriend showed up to their meeting location in Waikiki at 3:45 p.m. and were turned away. They informed me there were around a hundred other voters who were also turned away by rude volunteers. Why weren’t closing times posted anywhere? There are many frustrated Democrats in Hawaii who want answers.”

Plenty of complaints came in about Clinton supporters and even one person alleged that a volunteer tried to walk out of the polling location with Bernie Sanders votes in an unsealed envelope.

“She was asking people for the fastest way to the parking lot, walking fast.”

The witness’s friend got the ballots back and the woman was ejected from the precinct.

Official results may not be reported until the wee hours of Easter Sunday, until then, Hawaii voters, and the rest of the country, wait to see if Bernie Sanders made a clean sweep on Saturday.

“Without the right to protect themselves, those at the Quicken Loans Arena will be sitting ducks, utterly helpless against evil-doers, criminals or others who wish to threaten the American way of life,” the petition reads. “All three remaining Republican candidates have spoken out on the issue and are unified in their opposition to Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s “gun-free zones.’”

Then STFU and stay home. Idiots!

"let's make sure folks on the convention floor are armed and ready for an adequate response the the perceived injustice!" Good lord these people are batshit crazy.

Here's the petition. 41k and counting
Allow Open Carry of Firearms at the Quicken Loans Arena during the RNC Convention in July.

RECOGNIZE OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO OPEN CARRY FIREARMS AT THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION AT THE QUICKEN LOANS ARENA IN JULY 2016

SUMMARY: In July of 2016, the GOP will host its convention at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Though Ohio is an open carry state, which allows for the open carry of guns, the hosting venue—the Quicken Loans Arena—strictly forbids the carry of firearms on their premises.

According to the policy on their website, "firearms and other weapons of any kind are strictly forbidden on the premises of Quicken Loans Arena."

This is a direct affront to the Second Amendment and puts all attendees at risk. As the National Rifle Association has made clear, "gun-free zones" such as the Quicken Loans Arena are "the worst and most dangerous of all lies." The NRA, our leading defender of gun rights, has also correctly pointed out that "gun free zones... tell every insane killer in America... (the) safest place to inflict maximum mayhem with minimum risk." (March 4, 2016 and Dec. 21, 2012)

Cleveland, Ohio is consistently ranked as one of the top ten most dangerous cities in America. By forcing attendees to leave their firearms at home, the RNC and Quicken Loans Arena are putting tens of thousands of people at risk both inside and outside of the convention site.

This doesn't even begin to factor in the possibility of an ISIS terrorist attack on the arena during the convention. Without the right to protect themselves, those at the Quicken Loans Arena will be sitting ducks, utterly helpless against evil-doers, criminals or others who wish to threaten the American way of life.

All three remaining Republican candidates have spoken out on the issue and are unified in their opposition to Barack HUSSEIN Obama's "gun-free zones."

Donald Trump said "I will get rid of gun-free zones on schools—you have—and on military bases on my first day. It gets signed my first day...you know what a gun-free zone is to a sicko? That's bait." (Jan. 8. 2016)

Ted Cruz has accurately pointed out "shooting after shooting after shooting happens in so called gun-free zones." He continued, "look, if you're a lunatic ain't nothing better then having a bunch of targets you know that are going to be unarmed." (Dec. 4, 2015)

And Ohio Governor John Kasich has been a leader in this movement to eliminate deadly "gun-free zones" starting with his brave decision to fight the Democrats and end "gun-free zones" at National Guard facilities in Ohio. (Dec. 18, 2015)

We are all too familiar with the mass carnage that can occur when citizens are denied their basic God-given rights to carry handguns or assault weapons in public. EVERY AMERICAN HAS THE RIGHT TO PROTECT AND DEFEND THEIR FAMILY. With this irresponsible and hypocritical act of selecting a "gun-free zone" for the convention, the RNC has placed its members, delegates, candidates and all US citizens in grave danger.

We must take a stand. We cannot allow the national nominating convention of the party of Lincoln and Reagan to be hijacked by weakness and political correctness. The policies of the Quicken Loans Arena do not supersede the rights given to us by our Creator in the U.S. Constitution.

THEREFORE, WE ARE CALLING TODAY FOR THE FOLLOWING FIVE POINTS OF ACTION:

1. From the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland: A suspension of their policy preventing the open carry of firearms on the premises of the arena from July 18-21, 2016 to coincide with the Republican National Convention.

2. From the National Rifle Association: An immediate condemnation of the egregious affront to the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution constituted by the "gun-free zone" loophole to the state law.

3. From Ohio Governor John Kasich: A concerted effort to use his executive authority to override the "gun-free zone" loophole being exploited by the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

4. From Reince Priebus and the Republican National Committee: An explanation of how a venue so unfriendly to Second Amendment rights was chosen for the Republican Convention. Further, we demand a contingency plan to relocate the convention to another location should the Quicken Loans Arena refuse to honor the constitutional rights of the RNC guests to open carry firearms during the convention.

5. From all Republican candidates for President: You have been brave in raising awareness about the immense dangers posed by "gun-free zones." In order to ensure the safety of your supporters, delegates and all attendees at the convention in July, you must call upon the RNC to rectify this affront to our Second Amendment freedoms and insist upon a suspension of the Quicken Loans Arena's unconstitutional "gun-free zone" loophole. Every American is endowed with a God-given Constitutional right to carry a gun wherever and whenever they please.
(Bolded words per article)

What's the problem? All the candidates are against gun-free zones. The NRA feels gun-free zones violate the Second Amendment.

I'd be up for signing this if I could watch the reasoned debates between candidates' delegates, especially if this goes to a brokered convention. Would there be rioting within the convention if Trump is denied? Would Trump be arrested for shooting someone dead in the middle of the convention? Would it be a crime to yell "Bernie supporter over there" in a crowded room?

This is a watershed moment in Republican politics. Those in favor on this side, those opposed.... The Constitution says they should be packing.

So you are sure this comes from someone with authority to ask this of the convention on behalf of the candidates...say the RNC, or someone in authority tied to Trump, Cruz, or Kasich?

I'd wait and see what this is all about before I started claiming a watershed moment and all. I think it matters where this came from, and the # of signatures is of little consequence...IMHO.

If it is a brokered convention, the best way for these folks to keep themselves and their families safe is to watch on television -- whether they allow guns or not. There is violence in Trump events already. What might happen if his supporters think the nomination was stolen by the party establishment -- the very people who ignored them for decades? Who is to say? I would err on the side of no guns allowed in the arena, but it's their convention, so they should have at it. I don't live anywhere near Cleveland, so I ain't getting shot. But if some do as a result of this petition and the planners relaxing this rule, the GOP can deal with the fallout.

Here. Comes. Bernie.

Great weekend for him. Hopefully momentum carries into Wiscy.

The possibility of Sanders winning a general election came up and the conversation led to the higher taxes that would come and one individual had an idea I thought was interesting and I thought very good after pondering it.

Why work? If you are going to be taxed upwards of 50% of your income, take advantage of his free college for all and head back for a Master's Degree or a PhD. When his time in office is over, you can head back to work and utilize your new degrees to earn more money and hope the tax rates then come down.

1) 50% applies to those making over $10M per year. Although that's federal income tax only as others will be quick to point, total tax burden will end up being higher. 2) Bernie's free tuition applies to undergrad.

*And while you're not working, in order to not pay taxes, please refrain from calling the fire department, police department, using roads, public parks/beaches, and don't expect the military to fight any wars for you, schools to educate you (or your kids), or hospitals to care for you.

**I had a friend argue with me about taxes and how "39% is really high, man. That's ridiculous. I shouldn't have to pay that." Funny thing is, I know how much he makes...his effective rate after deductions is probably between 15%-20%...soooo great argument fella. The reason I bring this up is because people see Bernie's high rates but fail to comprehend that the vast majority of people will not be effected by increases. Tax rates are exceptionally low in this country. Ever since Reagan's cuts. Reaganomics do not work anymore. Trickle down does not work. It's time to increase the tax revenue and start paying for shit that benefits this country as a whole. Investing in the people, investing in the infrastructure and not lining the pockets of multi-billionaires and war mongers. Just my two cents.

You're underestimating Trump's crossover appeal. White blue collar Dems will be all about him.

White, blue collar Dems (the so-called Reagan Democrats) left the party in the 1980's and have never returned. Since Reagan they have either voted Republican or not voted at all. If Trump is the candidate, they may make an effort to get out and vote. But their turnout will be offset by Republicans turned off by Trump. It won't effect the Democratic vote much at all, since they haven't voted for a Democrat since Kennedy and Johnson.

The danger to the Democrats is that blacks, Hispanics, and young voters will not turn out in the same numbers they did for Obama. The election is the Democrats to win (even if Hillary is the candidate) unless Democratic voters decide to stay home on election day.

Someone brought up that point and the gentleman said he would sue the government for discrimination. Not sure if he would have a case, but it would probably make headlines.

The gentleman was I would guess around 50 so I think he could probably justify he has paid his share of taxes to still have access to the bolded.

To that point.....what about the students who are getting the free college, but probably have yet to pay much in taxes? Would they also be denied access to the bolded?

I hope the DOJ does investigate. As far as the rest of your post see below the next quote.

Bernie's wins are crushing, rub her nose in shit, embarassing lanslide type wins...he needs more of them but damn, when people go his way...its a tidal wave.

I think that in the Super Tuesday primaries, and earlier, many democrats crossed over to vote against Trump, etc. For example, Ohio had their Governor on the ballot, which was a preferred alternate.

The most recent primaries seemed to lack an acceptable Republican Alternative, and show a frustration on the part of Democrats, most Independents, and some moderate Republicans to continue to deal with Donald Trump.

NDinLA hit the bulls eye in his susinct commentary on Trump's campaign. People see his hypocrisy, tired of his pedantic, petulant ramblings, and terrified at the prospect that he could actually be chief executive of this country.

As far as Republicans versus Democrats, I learned my lesson from observation early. The grass roots organizations would have to cheat vote by vote with traditional fraud. Those with the power and money do it by manipulating voting machines, or ballots, limiting access to the vote, etc.

You can see this throughout the history of the nation. Dem's in Chicago had deceased on their rolls, who often voted more than once. In the deep south the aristocratic and Northern Republican Military control established all kinds of conditions like literacy test (Sometimes in Chinese), or no access to polling booths. The way that each side has cheated, (and I am clearly not simply speaking of Republicans versus Democrats), has not change, but has directly translated due to advancement in technology!

As a completion to my point. As a youth I got a chance to get to know Thomas Ludlow Ashly, a powerful Democratic Representative from Ohio's 9th Congressional District. I mean this guy got things done as witnessed from what bacon he brought home. Until a while after he retired, every Volkswagen imported to America came through the Port of Toledo. The list of other things he accomplished is long; you have the idea.

Why do I mention this? "Lud" was a Yale graduate, a close personal friend of the Bush family, particularly HW, and a friend of other iconic conservative figures such as WF Buckley. "Lud" was the first Bonesman I met. In truth, other than some support for labor, without which he could have never been elected, Lud was really a Republican of his day in orientation and ideology. That is why when he lost in 1980 it was to a Republican.

Both candidates were saying the same thing in their campaigns, so much so that the voters couldn't distinguish between them, and the Republican, Ed Webber, was carried in with the Reagan Democratic vote. To finish this off, the anomaly of that whole political situation was complete in '82 when Webber, the first term Congressman lost badly to a politically inexperience woman, with almost no resume.

I expect that same effect as '82 against the previous wave of Republican success, followed by zero accomplishment, and bunches of bad feelings.

The gentleman was I would guess around 50 so I think he could probably justify he has paid his share of taxes to still have access to the bolded.

To that point.....what about the students who are getting the free college, but probably have yet to pay much in taxes? Would they also be denied access to the bolded?

The government has a yearly budget based on yearly tax revenue. I don't follow this person's logic on "paid my share, I should maintain access." Take roads/bridges for example. They require yearly maintenance: Plowing/Salt, patching, paving, cleaning, painting, mowing, bridge repair, etc. Continued use warrants continued upkeep which warrants continued tax revenue to cover the costs.

Why is this a question when it pertains to public universities? Is this currently an issue for high school students at public schools who also have a driver's license and use public roads? Primary education wasn't always free to the public. America adapted and made education a priority. Bernie is trying to push that education to a higher standard by extending free education, paid for by taxes (like it currently is), to public universities.
