Hell of a way to finish up high school:

I wondered. I suppose if this kid also wrestled, they would have a state title in grappling as well!

I am beginning to believe this kid is an ultra-special athlete. It is enough to know this kid is well rounded enough to play quarterback on his high school team when needed. But this? Shows the kid is a big-time winner as well!

Could this kid be two-way in the style of Torii Hunter, Jr.? For goal lines at end, h-back or running back?

For all of those who question his height for tight end, Tyler Luatua was 6'2", maybe.

I'm sorry, but that video says Jamir is 6'5"...is he really though? He was closer to 6'2" or 6'3" during the season. Did he hit a growth spurt? I liked him already but if he got that much bigger...goodness.

I think you may have been watching the part of the video where they interview his brother.

The video listed Jamir as 6-5, 240. I was hoping they would have a picture of him next to Jarron for comparison because he's all of the 6-5 he's listed at.

Besides, did anyone think Jamir was going to stay at LB for 4 years?

Unless he's grown a bit, Jarron has him by a few inches:

That's what I'm wondering. That's a fresh video. Is it incorrect or has he hit a spurt?

When was the pic you posted... Junior Day or from last season?

**** Nevermind, found it. Last June.

OK. I didn't watch the whole thing because of the dubious quality, but I remember Jarron saying he was currently 6'5", and 210.

I wonder if they got jamir's height from a bball roster? They always round up.

I thought the quality of the video was good.

The narrator must have been wearing an asshat, or not really meant it for public consumption.

In the video, for this Lacrosse season, it listed him as 6'4" tall, not 6'5".

Here is the deal. I don't care if he is 6'5", 6'4", or 6'3". He is growing. And it doesn't look like he is slowing down or getting less athletic.

Here is an all-state senior athlete whose team has won a state championship in each of his sports.

And his football video at tight end reminds me of Keith Jackson. No wonder some want him at tight end.

But this kid may be the elite defensive talent for whom many have been pining!

Anyone else super happy that Jamir has picked up the defense fast. I'm super excited to see this kid develop and play the next 4 years. Him and his brother are both great kids and great athletes. What separates Jamir from Jarron is that Jamir's motor is always going.

I suspect that having his little brother come in focused and pick things up quickly could really be a positive factor in getting Jarron to consistently dig deeper in his reserve of God given ability.

You would think that. But during the press conference yesterday Kelly again mentioned that Jarron could be dominant if he gave consistent effort on every play.

He's really matured physically from 2 years ago. He's lost a lot of that baby fat that Jarron had/has and he has (what looks to be) a much more athletic body type with more lean muscle. I think some, like myself, just assumed he would be the same type of player (as Jarron) and beef up too much for LB. He's really come along well. Should be fun to watch.

On last week's power hour, the ISD staff mentioned Jamir possibly switching to the "Drop" position in Elko's defense. If that happens, do you think they'd redshirt him a year?

Personally, I can't see that.

I agree. But to the question, if he is moved, they better RS one of Okwara, Jones, or Hayes. Okwara and Jones should've been RS last year, so it would make sense that its one of them.

Agreed.

There is an argument that they really should have red-shirted Hayes, but he probably couldn't afford anymore time away from games...

It would make sense, except Jones is a really good ST player and they have no depth at the position.
