2016 Men's ACC Tournament (3/8-3/12)

Starting this for when the tournament kicks off in two days. Figure there will be some non-ND discussion so might as well make a new thread for this tournament. Any predictions out there? I'm picking Virginia to win it all. I have no idea what to make of ND right now. Hoping Brey sticks with the quick attack offense and the expanded bench. We need NC State/Wake to play Duke somewhat tough so they're hopefully a bit worn down on Thursday.

Also pretty happy that UVA/Miami are on the opposite side of the bracket in case we do get hot and go on a run.

I think we beat Duke. Jefferson isn't coming back this season and we'll be better rested.

Much rather play Duke and UNC than Virginia and Miami. Don't think rest will be deciding factor for Duke - lack of depth I think compounds more for game 3 or 4 in a row and they can dig deep enough in game two to overcome.

The more I look at it, the more I feel like UNC got screwed as the 1 seed based on how the rankings shook out.

Pitt and Syracuse might have greater chances to be a pain in the ass than everyone else playing in the first two rounds.

Heading to the Big 10 Tourney on Friday. Watching IU at noon then Purdue at 2:30...should be a pretty packed house.

Read and article on BGI that said we are 12-0 when we have more then 67 possessions in a game but only 8-10 when we are under 67

Kenpom predictions. Only about a 4% chance for us to win the tournament. 44% chance of getting to the semis...sounds defeatist, but I'd probably take a one win-and-done in the ACC this year....although I'll be sipping the kool-aid pretty hard if our offense looks like it did against NC State last week...

Beating Duke, UNC and then Virginia or Miami three nights in a row.... 4% actually doesn't sound like that bad of odds to me. Especially considering our worst five offensive efficiency games were in the last 6 or 7 games (maybe not that bad but it is a pretty bad stat).

Any idea what our odds were last year? We really need to win the first game to get some momentum back.

The frosh gave us such a boost he would be crazy to not let them play some time same with Farrell. Like irishfan said if we see our offense like it was against ncst then I will definitelyb e drinking the koolaid too

I won't read into it one way or another. All year long this team has been up and down, whether that was week to week, game to game or half to half. Nothing is really going to change that, we are what we are. I do think that ND can make the second weekend if they play their "A" game for two games in a row. Problem is, that has been tough to do all year.

This means we can expect to have 1/3rd the FTs that Duke gets, instead of the usual 1/2.

They should be since it was an up and down type of game. Not really our style, but I'd like to see Brey push the tempo to wear them down more. I have a feeling Plumlee will play, but he'll be limited trying to breath on the first day of a broken nose.

Harangody was amazing, but he was such a spaz down low...would love a guy like him to be on the court since he'd probably be flailing elbows in Plumlee's face the whole game.

^I clearly don't want anyone playing dirty, but anything to make Plumlee think about that broken nose more than he should.
