When this guy signs with us, I'm done with recruiting. There is no logic. Just show me the roster of true freshman in the spring game and I'll find out who signed then. I know you guys will miss my film evals of prospects so I apologize for that.

What we'll really miss is your drooling over the abs of 18 year old kids.

I couldn't imagine they'd be many (if any) SEC schools wanting her for track with those numbers, would they?

Given football probably funds the track program, I can see it happening. While the track coach might resent it, I could see Saban strongly recommending he put the girl on schollie so he can get his 5* receiver. Might sweeten the pot by improving his faculty tickets for the home games.

A 13.47 100 is good enough for a girls athletic scholarship? The worst guy on my high school team was faster than that.

Her 200 time may be good (barely) to run at the D3 level. I am not sure how much you can improve your times as a female runner from high school through college.

If Longo is involved, than anything is possible.

lol reminds of when Brandon Weedan was put on the golf team at Oklahoma State because they didn't have a spare football scholarship for him. This enabled him to use athletic department facilities/training table etc which he wouldn't have gotten access to as a mere walk-on. I don't think he was any good at golf at all :D

Class of 2016 five-star wide receiver Demetris Robertson has yet to sign a letter-of-intent, but over the weekend he signed a financial aid agreement with California, which puts him one step closer to ending his recruitment.

According to his brother and guardian Carlos Robertson, the move to sign the agreement now was to allow the Bears to have unlimited contact with Demetris Robertson going forward. However, Carlos said he doesn't expect the Bears coaches to make any more in-home visits and that it's possible Demetris might also sign an agreement with Georgia Tech.

I can't believe anyone predicted Cal in this recruitment. There is something definitely going on with this kid. My only thought is academics.

This was a weird recruitment. I would have liked him but hey you have to move on and we got an overall good class.

I have a feeling this story has a few more twists in it yet to come, but to be honest, i don't care anymore.

If he does end up signing with Cal, i supposed that's the best we could hope for if it wasn't going to be us. Definitely rather them than Stanford, Bama, or GA.

I would assume a school would not get in trouble for their unlimited contact...only if they publicly talked about the recruit.

His recruitment smells fishy. That's all i'm saying.

Hopefully i'm wrong, but I cant help but to suspect that his brother doesn't have his best interest at heart. That has nothing to do with him not coming to Notre Dame, but rather the fact that there seems to be some back room dealings going on.

this happened at lsu with womack....even though they didn't publicly speak about him, they had contact with him as he signed to both bama and lsu and lsu took secondary violations

Records: LSU slapped with recruiting sanctions after prospect backs out of commitment | The Advocate — Baton Rouge, Louisiana

doesn't matter that he was committed...it only matters if he signs w/ multiple schools and then the ones he doesn't choose get screwed

Same deal for Daelin Hayes and USC right? And Jarrett Stidham and Texas Tech the year before?

It's the perfect ending in his recruitment.

Agree. Is it actually over though? Would love to see a scenario where Hunter Johnson is throwing passes to Chris Clark and Robertson. Not sure what team they could all end up on but it's fun to dream.

Maybe he wants to be close to Stanford so he can transfer there. Like Rudy.

He is not coming to ND. I would be surprised if he is even qualified academically at this point. Him signing on with Cal is a huge red flag IMO. Cal's graduation rate for football players is atrocious. One of the worst IIRC.

I've felt that this was the case for some time now. This was never really about academics, IMO. That's a really nice story to tell the public but this was about something else. What? I don't know but I think its pretty apparent its not about just finding the best fit for him academically. They've been waiting for something this entire time and I don't think it was better SAT scores.
