ND has lost all confidence, especially Jackson.
At this point, maybe his draft stock will fall far enough that'll he'll be incentivized to come back next year, and we can get Thon?...
ND just sucked to end the season. Not going anywhere in this tourney, I am afraid.
After some of the flops recently, it wouldn't surprise me if ND comes out and wins....just hope it happens because I think these 2 closing games are important for what happens next. Go Irish.

Man, if Kelly ever said this, this board would implode.

The defense has been garbage, but that's way it's been all year. The offense has been lousy the last four games. Getting down 12-0 almost immediately at home does not lead to wins.
I've also noticed that the team gives up points late in the first half- we cut the lead to 29-22 with like 2 minutes left in the half and then found ourselves down 35-22 when the buzzer sounded. Not good.
I still think the team is radically underperforming relative to their potential right now and can make a run in the tournament. Given past tourney performances, though, I see why everyone is skeptical.
I have avoided commenting on the past two weeks, but this is what ND is this year. Road games we have been, overall, well below average. Sure we won at Duke and Clemson, but that is about it. We got blown out a few times and generally start slow. That is the concern heading into the NCAA's. For us to make a run, we need DJ playing consistently like a lottery pick (which he has not done), ZA to play at a high level all game (which he really hasn't done since last March) Bonzie and VJ to be serviceable on the defensive end while playing well on O and to have some scoring off the bench. When ND played well this year, those things happened to some degree. Consistency is lacking.
Finally, we need DJ or SV to takeover on offense when things are going bad. I feel like both of them can do it ( and have done it during certain points of various games, like L'ville) but do not do it enough to stop a mini 5-0 run. Grant did it last year and we have not filled that void yet.
I think we're a tired team and it's showing, especially on defense. Brey has never been big about going deep in his bench. How long are his practices now? I know a lot of coaches like to pare back practice time and the physicality of the practice later in the season just to keep the team fresh.
Brey can say whatever he wants. He has been to two sweet 16s in about that many years. He's earned it.
Am I going crazy, or has Auguste been wearing his shorts inside-out every game?
Am I going crazy or do we look like crap once again to an extremely inferior team?
Looking better now at least. Funny to see Brey expand the bench. I doubt he does it next week or in the NCAA Tournament, but we pretty blatantly had tired legs the last couple weeks.
