People really don't understand the "all publicity is good publicity" theory. I firmly believe Trump would not have been in the position he is in today if liberals and everyone else who went completely nuts on social media when he first started his campaign had just shut up and let things run their course. Instead, I had people on my Facebook page point out something stupid Trump said EVERY SINGLE DAY from maybe December to the present. I'm smart enough not to let something like that affect who I vote for but there are a lot of weak-minded ignorant people in the world who are voting for Trump just because that's the guy they see on TV all the time and read about on everyone's Facebook page.

I agree with this. I would add that these weak-minded ignorant people are voting for Trump precisely because it drives the opposition crazy.

It was a great episode, but it likely didn't dissuade a single voter away from Trump. There's virtually zero overlap between Oliver's audience and Trump's supporters.

Yeah, you're right, but it's also getting shittons of social media circulation to others outside of the Oliver viewing demographic. The biggest issue is the number of Trump supporters that aren't engaged in social media in any way, shape, or form and are therefor ignorant to all of this (and this is a self-fulfilling prophecy in that they support Donald Trump strictly because of ignorance of his blights). For example, I showed my dad that that video and talked to him for five solid minutes and by the end he no longer supports Trump. Seems that he liked the idea of Trump, not Trump the actual candidate. The problem is people who don't understand the difference, or who actually support a total whackjob on purpose.

I truly think it's mobilizing the base the base though to give greater turnout from the anti-Trump people.

help us all if Hilary wins the election

Help us all if she doesn't! I have no love for Hillary, but she's going to be running against a lunatic or the most incredibly devious and manipulative dude in America. .... and we have no idea where he stands on anything.

But she is both a lunatic and devious manipulative. I don't even think her husband wants her to win

I despise Hillary but I don't trust Trump in office either and don't want him as the GOP candidate. Strong possibility that if these are our options for 2016, I will not vote.

Cruz and Rubio need to get together and sort it out, and have one drop.

She's manipulative, and ran by corporations, but America's been there before.

I'll take a lying puppet before Donald.

She's the safer pick by a mile, imo.

Virginia going Trump. This is all because Buster wouldn't let me have more votes. So Cletus from Appalachia cancelled me out.

Nah burn it down. Even if he's a disaster maybe something will change, instead of just accepting another puppet out of fear.

Why do people think the USA needs "radical change"? Who here doesn't have a good job and the ability to take care of the family? Who here is hurting for something?

I'd take Hillary all day, every day over Trump who potentially put us into WWIII or wreck social/economic policy because he's an inexperienced wild card.

The status quo does not suck, as much as activists and cherry picked stats tell you it does.

lots of things could change ... We could start torturing people again and killing the children of enemy combatants. We could alienate the rest of the world because he tweets in the middle of the night about the physical appearance of their wives, or disparages their cultures. We could wildly spend money on a stupid wall or "rebuilding" the military into something more than the most powerful in world history. We could toss 11 million million people -- many with family roots -- out of the country and into the desperate poverty that brought them here to begin with. We could throw 20 million people off the health insurance roles and make our poor people even poorer. Trump could get a lot of stuff done. That's why we should all be terrified.

Isn't fear mongering supposed to be a right wing thing? Trump isn't ideal clearly, but I won't vote for Hillary.

Elect a Republican and you will discover the amount of homeless, un- and under employed, the un- and under insured, gang violence, etc.

Cruz with 11 point lead.

Rubio flirting with the 20% Delegate Cutoff. Texas only awards delegates to candidates receiving 20% of the vote.
