Woody Womack on BGI recruiting podcast on friday when referring to Demetris "He does not know what he is doing"

Sounds like Womack is fed up talking about this kid and his recruitment, you rarely hear that..

Had a dream last night that I logged onto IE to find that every account was a spam bot. The only legit post I could find in the whole mess was by TheRealDemetris, and he was trying to tell us that he was committed to the good guys. He was frustrated that he decided to join IE to tell us the good news first, only for his plan to be foiled by spam on what looked to be a user-less site.

Not sure what the symbolism there is.

I really don't want to listen to Woody Womack complain how much he hates his job.

I agree. Woody Womack bothers me. That should be a job you enjoy. He should be lucky he doesnt have to be in an office all day long.

I listened to the podcast. I never got the feeling Woody doesn't like his job. His tune on Robertson was that the kid's recruitment is a joke, and who is going to disagree with that?

Those recruiting jobs aren't really well paid though are they? I wouldn't envy him, especially working in the South East.

Yup, the kid has worked his ass off. I think it's safe to say no matter where he ends up he will be serious about his education.

Source?

That is one plausible possibility. Another is he can't, based upon having every other person in his ear telling him what to do! Maybe he never has had to do for himself? Would make it really tough in this high pressure situation!

Anyone fed up with this situation? Ridiculous!

Just another example of misinformation? To what end? Just don't like Womack? Or to divert attention from the fact that DRob's recruitment is off the rails, and he may be responsible for it? Or have traits that make the situation unavoidable.

yeah, if the job doesn't pay well, then it might get a little old having to pander to 17-18 year olds who love the attention, and have no clue what they are doing. (but speaking, and acting like they do). Especially the ones that have 2 years to make a decision, but still feel the need to extend that past NSD.

Here is my thing. The recruiting guys get to travel around the country watch and talk football all year long. You might not get paid extravagantly but it sounds like a fun job and you should be doing something you love.

You want a source to explain how he's worked his ass off and academics are important?

Also, early in DR's recruitment it was stated he would go to school with his sister who was looking for a track scholarship. I had completely forgotten about his sister. Where did she end up?

Also, keep in mind how many times that Drob and his brother have retracted quotes or entire interviews. I know that the way some behave in the industry we tend to think credibility doesn't exist but its still probably important to some. When you continuously have that credibility called into question by the same recruit, it probably gets tiresome. Not saying that this has specifically happened to Woody but they have done it after multiple interviews.

Right. IDK how we're speculating how much Woody likes his job. Listened to the whole thing, that never crossed my mind and looking back, still don't see it.

I don't think anyone will know where he is going until he mentions what school he played for during Monday Night Football intros.

I guess the most interesting discussion topic, to me, continues to be, does he really only sign financial aid paperwork? And if so, are we essentially recruiting this kid until June?

Can the coaches visit him again post signing day or is he only allowed to take official/unofficial visits to the school? It will be pretty tough if he's visiting these schools and in contact with other coaching staffs when all ND can do is hit him up on the phone and use social media.

Honestly, I don't know the rules on post NSD visitation and contact rules. My guess is that HC's still only get the one visit and that visit for BK has already occurred, therefore, we can't use that again. I'm not sure about assistant coaches but I'd think if it was allowed, we'd have already sent some coaches to see him, at least I'd like to think we would. So, it seems like that might be off the table as well.

These are the reasons I bring this up. Imagine the freak out this board would have the day he signed financial aid paperwork to ND, to then realize, that is irrelevant and he'll continue to talk about taking other visits and talking to other coaches. They keep saying a March decision and I keep thinking this is going into June. By that time, this might have become the thread of the year.

I get what you're saying. I imagine it will be about 10x worse than what USC felt after Hayes signed his paperwork only to decommit and EE at ND. I really don't think the kid ends up at ND, so my hopes aren't up personally. I imagine he's benig pulled in a million different directions:

1. He knows he wants Stanford, but can't get in. He's still trying to get that test score and to me it would be a total shocker if he didn't go to Stanford after all the work/stress/time.

2. He's already got a green light to ND from admissions from multiple sources. Football scholly or no, the kid isn't a complete slouch in the classroom. He knows the degree at ND is strong at ND but it's not his first choice. He doesn't have the same desire for ND. It's not shocking to me that a kid can value academics and still value UGA or Bama over ND.

3. His family and friends are all in the South. His mother, his sister, his brothers. They're all telling him different things. Not to mention every Tom, Dick and Harry that stops him on the street.

You have to at least respect the fact that he's sticking to his guns, trying to get into his first choice and using every avenue to ensure that he's exhausted all options before he ends up at his fallback school.

I say send one of the assistants down to camp out at the McDonalds close to his school. He's bound to stop in. Wasn't it Saban a couple of years ago who happened to run into a recruit while in LA?
