Really helped himself his senior year with jump in production. 3-tech type for a 4-3.

those measurable aren't going to help him much though unfortunately

Anybody that has watched Sheldon play shouldn't be surprised by those measurables. He won't test as well as Donald and doesn't have the consistency of production but you also won't be required to take him in the first round. He'll be a really nice day 2 add, IMO.

If I had a penetrating 4-3 defense, I would take him in a heartbeat. He may not have all the measurables but in the right system he is a beast.

I told you he only looked to be about an inch taller than me! Booyah!!

And by that I am not minimizing the fact that he is a phenomenal, elite prospect.

Murphy's law states Sheldon Day will end up on the Cowboys or the Patriots - can't think of any teams I hate more than the Cowboys and Patriots.

Day seems at risk of dropping due to measurable but the production just doesn't stop (just like his motor). If he drops out of the first round someone is getting a steal with a chip on their shoulder to boot.

Wouldn't mind seeing him and Tuitt on the same line - that would be fun! Throw Shumate, Russell and Smith in there and Pittsburgh would own my fandom in the AFC.

I'd love us to draft KVR + Sheldon Day in the first three rounds somewhere. Maybe get Shumate or Brown in the 6th

I forgot that the Steelers run a 4-3 now. I thought that Tuitt was supposed to be a 3 tech in a 4 man front. Either way, Tuitt and Day on a line together in the NFL killing it, especially for a team with such a huge fanbase would be killer.

I actually was thinking earlier this season that KVR would've been great as an old Dick Lebeau style corner.

Ehhh... not really a 4-3, sort of a multple 3-4 set with some 4-3 ish influences. I could maybe see Sheldon being used as a weakside DE in our scheme though

Awesome news for Day.

But I have to say he is only the second best Sheldon DL at the senior bowl this week. Sheldon Rankins has been literally unblockable

Just got done watching the first 2 series of the senior bowl and he already has a tackle, 2/3 hurries and caused a holding call. Looking really good

Lining up at DE and being able to consistently win outside could have very well be made him some money this week. He was consistently creating problems/havoc with his motor and pressure. I don't think any team will draft him as a everydown DT to start but he's showing he has a lot of flexibility and is a real tough matchup.

Glad to hear. He's given as much to the team as anybody over the past 4 years. I'll always root for him, even against my Bears. Though I'll still hope he loses the game :)

I think a lot of 4-3 teams will see Day as an everydown starter.

There is a reason there is only one Aaron Donald.

Just mentioned him cause he was the best DT in football this year. In addition to him, other players who are within an inch and 15 lbs of Day are Geno Atkins (Bengals), Jurrell Casey (Titans), and Kyle Williams (Bills).

Donald, Atkins and Casey are every down linemen who made the pro bowl this year. Kyle Williams has fallen off a bit this year but was a pro bowler 4 of the last 6 years.

So there is definitely precedent for guys Day's size to dominate in the NFL. It should be noted, however, that only Donald being a high draft pick with Atkins a 4th rounder and the other 2 taken in the 5th.

I think Day goes in the 2nd round, 3rd at worst.

Reminds me a little of Dwight Freeney. Same size and motor. Just lacking Freeney's explosive first step.
