Told Scout ND is definitely in the top 3. Spoke with jaylon as well. Had all very good things to say. Was told he's an every down LB from the beginning

His dad really enjoyed the visit and was very impressed with what ND offers with the academics. Said he thinks it's important for recruits to visit schools they're interested in to remove any doubts, and right now there aren't any with ND. Also said he's looking forward to Kelly's in home visit.

Ben Davis could post a video of him in all Blue and gold lighting a pile of his Alabama t shirts and hoodies with his dad pouring the gas and doing the Irish Jig to Rakes of Mallow, and you guys still wouldn't be convinced

I wouldn't be convinced if a picture surfaced of a bagman giving the Davis family the keys to the Weis crib and there was a Uhaul truck in front of it with Alabama plates.

In his top 3. Georgia Bama ND in that order. Already visited Georgia and ND still has to visit Auburn and Bama

Hell of a job by Denson to get him here but there's nothing else to see here.

I am with all of you, nothing to get excited about.

Kudos to Denson for getting this kid on campus.

At best we are a hat on the table to make his offer's look impressive.

I agree with what Cack had to say.......in all likelihood, we don't end up with him, however, Denson got him on campus, from Alabama, in the middle of January.......no matter how pessimistic you are, this is a recruiting win for Notre Dame. Getting, arguably the nation's best HS LB on campus this time of year from the deep south, is huge!!!! I'm glad he enjoyed his visit, and while not overly excited about him coming here, will wait anxiously for his decision!!

Not trying to be mean just curious why this is huge and a win for ND? Recruiting is a zero sum game, you either win or lose, being number three at the end of the day does nothing to help ND?

This is a *win* in the sense that Denson is creating good relationships in the South.

Right now, it's resulted in one of the nation's top players making a courtesy visit. But if Denson keeps working on those relationships, those courtesy visits could become "serious" visits in the next couple of years. Coaches/parents/players/schools see Denson working hard and getting guys interested, and eventually one of those guys will pull the trigger for the good guys.

At least, that's the hope. That's why some might consider this a win.

Fair point, I guess I didn't look at it that way. I looked at it like we got a big time talent on campus which is nice but like many it seems we will end up in the bridesmaid category however denson has been awesome and you have a good point so it is a win in that sense

Were it not for the fact his dad is a former star Bama LB I'd think we'd have an even better shot. I just find it hard to believe he doesn't end up at Bama.

Is this your opinion (if so please state that) or did you see this quoted somewhere (if so please quote source)? To make a statement like this is a big deal since he just left and there is a BIG difference between your opinion and Davis saying that after his visit. Would also surprise me to see Georgia ahead of Bama.

It's all over the boards with articles written today after his visit. Davis said this himself.

Read the scout article. He says Georgia is number one and ND is in his top 3.
