Apparently, David Jones had quite a bit to teach us all.

I remember when he was among the first to blur the gender lines, and of course was treated with suspicion to outright contempt from so many. (That was back before Mick was opining Angie.)

Many never realized how private a person he was. Or how fabulously wealthy and powerful.

Now we can all learn a lesson on humanity, resolve, and toughness.

He released his album on his sixty-ninth birthday, Friday last; and, died 'peacefully in bed' yesterday, after an eighteen month battle with cancer. Most had no clue.

That takes real balls.

Was not a Bowie fan, but can't underestimate his contributions to music.

Facebook is already littered with all the "life long" fans professing how DB changed their life. Why do people always feel the need to profess how big a fan they are of people they haven't thought about in decades when they pass away? It's obnoxious.

It's hard to put into words how much David Bowie meant to me.

His music helped me mature as a human being. He was a hero of every
musical influence I have.

RIP. Fuck.

Are you serious about this?

Colin Cowherd? Is this you?

Contrarian?

Was going to post exactly this, I'll put it in the OP.

If we're deciding things to put in the OP, seriously:

He was groundbreaking. Music changed in a very fundamental way because of David Bowie.

I'm really bummed.

I was never a huge Bowie fan, but can absolutely appreciate his contribution to rock. Just sad to see another legend of my youth pass away. The icons of my generation are slowly disappearing.

Yes I am serious. If you are a huge fan, that's awesome. I'm talking about the "crushed fans" who probably know him as the Ground Control to Major Tom song guy.

That's not fair.

That's like saying a lot of the people who were sad that John Lennon died were "Imagine" people.

Who cares if they were? He touched their lives. Art touched their lives.

Why are we judging which song did the touching? We can't judge people like that.
