I believe, he was Kelly's DC and GVSU and CM for a few years.

To your question, no taker here.

Yeah thats what a poster on 247 said.

I'm just so tired of BVG. They won't take the next step until he is gone. They are more than ready offensively but definitely not defensively. Hopefully BK can make a Sanford like hire on defense lol

Also the Cinci DC from '10-'12 after BK left (oddly).

He was also the recruiting coordinator for UC and is credited with signing their best recruiting class ever in '11.

Although he was on his way out at UT, they believe his recruiting efforts were pretty darn good. They've done pretty well recruiting defenders during his tenure.

Though ripping the band aid off seems tempting, I think at this point the most likely scenario for this upcoming season is BK takes a very hands on approach. Him and BVG talk it out where Bk gives him the things he wants to see done and worked on. A lot of it will ultimately come back to Kelly to say "yay" or "nay" and we take some small steps into next season before any serious action is made.

Maybe an assistant role for Mr. Jancek

I really think BK should at least have a conversation with him. He is a great recruiter (two top 10 classes in '14 & '15), has had a ton of success as a defensive coordinator and can (at worst) be BK's eyes and ears to BVG. I think he would be a great addition to our staff.

Sounds like Vol fans are saying that Butch had to fire somebody so Jancek was the guy he chose, is that kind of what Wiltfong is getting at?

Looked through the message boards at Volnation and there were several posts that referred to Jancek and Jones butting heads during the season.

Almost nobody claiming to be excited that he is gone, most of the discussion is simply speculating who the candidates to replace would be.

Actually quite a few posters spoke highly of Jancek and the job that he did turning around a defense that was bad when he first arrived.

i think Butch had to find a scapegoat for his epic 4th quarter breakdowns against teams..something im sure the Tenn administration wanted to know before investing in him some more...it appears that he is the fall guy....NOT SURE on exactly what wiltfong is getting at...but IMO it appears to be the case but i honestly have no idea...they had a TON of young players on def

Tennessee getting Bob Shoop today from PSU is HUGE. Tennessee is very young and loaded with talent. Shoop took a bunch of no names and scholarship limits at Penn State and had a top 15 defense in the country.

Shoop would've begged to have had the talent that Van Gorder has had at ND, and did more with much less.

Reports: Miss. State hires USC LB coach Peter Sirmon as new DC - CBSSports.com

Sirmon will replace former defensive coordinator Manny Diaz, who left for the Miami Hurricanes last week.

Sirmon's full title with Mississippi State beyond being the defensive coordinator is still yet to be determined, but he will reportedly not be named the Bulldogs recruiting coordinator as well.

He leaves USC after Clay Helton named Clancy Pendergast the Trojans' new defensive coordinator over Sirmon, who served as the interim defensive coordinator for the Holiday Bowl.

what eli wants eli gets.

As a giant fan I understand the hire of McAdoo, but not convinced in the long run it was the right guy to go with. time will tell.
