Who is alleging ND turned Hamlin down?

Loy did last week.

Quick recap for me, sorry it's in this thread...

Did Hamlin and Pride both say to the staff, "I want to come" and they chose Pride and told Hamlin there was no room?

or

Did Pride make the decision to commit first ,while ND (supposedly) led with Hamlin, giving him the spot in a first come, first served scenario?

I think it's closer to the bolded.

Thought I read earlier that Hamlin was a take no matter what.

I think that with some of these DB's commits playing so well this year. Studstill, Elliot, Vaughn, Love, Pride, etc. I think the staff started to think of Hamlin as more of a luxury. Wiltfong said that Hamlin was no longer the #1 CB on the board and they felt comfortable with what they had already.

I read a while ago that Vaughn had some work to do in the classroom. I hope he did what needed to be done by NSD

From what I've gathered it sounds like he's on track. Its been asked at 247 a few times and they feel like everything will be good to go.

Evidently plans on announcing his commitment two days after his official visit to ND

Got a feeling pitt might end up being the only one that's going to push for him down the stretch

Unless we whiff on Kelly and McCullough - which is entirely possible.

However, we probably won't know that when he's deciding. They are NSD decisions and it sounds like he'll be announcing days in advance of that. Hopefully the staff will have a good read on where they stand with those two.

As long as ND doesn't walk away empty handed...

Yea, I'm a little worried that we are once again the 2nd choice for quite a few players down the stretch here. Therefore, making Morris and the like takes but I guess we'll have to see. In fact over the weekend I took a look at some prospects that we essentially could've been in the game for but chose to look elsewhere and there is some talent that I'd like to have in this class that won't be. Now if we fill up with Kelly, McCulloch, etc. then that was thats all a moot point/exercise, though entertaining for me..

Per Wiltfong, it doesn't look like OSU will offer Morris so that basically leaves it as ND's to lose with his visit approaching. We're recruiting him as a WR.

interesting because rivals stated we are offering him as a linebacker/safety hybrid

I was reading through the posts and it mentions his HS coach appreciating the honesty from the ND staff as they were talking to him about safety/LB. Anyone know the reason they are flipping him to the other side of the ball now?

hat I was hearing Morris did not make the visit. I have now confirmed the visit was cancelled.

“He turned it down,” Hoban coach Tim Tyrrell said. “He’s going to visit Notre Dame next weekend and then either Indiana or Rutgers the following weekend. Pitt and Michigan State are the other two schools in the running.”

Loy confirmed that BVG and Kelly really like him on defense and that's what they are recruiting him for right now.
