Alloway looks pretty darn good on tape. I think I was too down on him because I wanted Stovall.

In regards to him playing next year... Whether it was him saying it or CBK saying it, I'd redshirt him unless he completely blew CJ-S away in the return game or if CJ got hurt after beating DA out.

Hard to pass on a player as versatile as Alloway.

Scout: family loved the in home and feels ND has Alloway's back and best intentions. However, Alloway wants his grandfather to see UCLA with him. May not happen until next month. Feels like he wants to stay home but get approval first.

Just don't think he's headed this way.

somebody's sources are going to be wrong considering there's seems to be a ton of guys still in play that we are in good shape with, but spots seem to be limited even with transfers

they are planning on taking 25...we have room for 7 more...hayes, studstill,pride--most likely

(hamlin, jeff m,robertson,alloway,javon)---this would be a total of 8 but realistically someone or 2 will get cold feet leaving, so there's room

I'll be curious to see how this one works out. He said the same to Anna but then threw in the comment about wanting to show his grandfather UCLA on the visit.

He was supposed to visit UCLA next weekend but his grandfather ended up with a conflict.

I really feel like these are the type of guys that would not be a take for me. Seems like he knows he should go to ND, but he's trying to talk himself out of it.

We see those guys all the time and they rarely end up here.

I was looking over some old posts and I called 2 or 3 DB's from SoCal in this class.

I still have a chance with Morgan, Long and Alloway. With Alloway's ability on both sides of the ball, I might get 2 AND 3.

Here is his senior season highlight.

Most of us feel his junior year film was absolutely underwhelming. Some think he's overrated because of that. His rep is a lot like Daelin Hayes' in that he blew up in the summer via 7v7 and camps.

I saw 3 Summit games this year and he looked great in all of them. This film will make everyone understand why the staff has stayed on him. It's 9 solid minutes of TD's and interceptions. It's better film than CJ Sanders had. I wish Fontana Summit posted stats on MaxPreps, would love to know his stat line. Last thing to remember for those not familiar with his recruitment, he's not the first offensive option on his team. That distinction belongs to SC commit, Stephen Carr who is the #2 RB in nation for the Class of '17. So he had to make his touches count.

That move at 0:50 was absolutely filthy. Much more impressive than the junior film.

Damn, I already take back my words about wanting Javon more. They both look good but that play at 31 seconds was BA, he had a line of players coming at him and he still found a way out.

Definitely want. I hate that Mora may sign this guy and waste him.

Wow. Just posted in the McKinley thread about how I wasn't impressed by Alloway. This film is so much better than his Junior year.

Meh. Looks better, still doesn't look spectacular. Looks like a bad route runner and small.

Looked good at CB too. If he does decide to come to ND, bring him I. As an athlete and see where he fits best. I thought that tape was much improved overall.

We'd be lucky to have him, LAX.

Disagree. Strongly. Can't remember the last 5'8" WR with decent speed that rounds off all of his routes that ever made a big impact for a good team in college or the pros. He's like Davonte Neal but literally worse in every aspect.

So he won't improve his route running by the time his name is called upon and the team will be relying on him? CJ Sanders is 5'8" too.

Not totally disagreeing with you but when the team year in and year out fails to field a team of 85, we'd be stupid to turn this guy away. Wouldn't make much sense to take a guy like Fertita but turn down Alloway

CJ Sanders was also nearly 2 tenths of a second faster in the 40 and -- much more importantly -- more than half a second faster in the 20-yard shuttle. Guys like Isaiah McKenzie, CJ Sanders, and Davonte Neal are all very different than Alloway, because they are much more fluid and athletic, which gives them upside in a slot WR role being able to eat up the middle of the field while also being ideal for punt returns.

Alloway is much closer to Charles Nelson, who has turned out to be very good for Oregon. If you want to make a case for a comparable player getting much, much better at playing WR that's who you point to.

I'm not saying you turn him away just to turn him away, but if you're taking 2 more WRs he last on my list of the 5 currently on the board.

I'm kind of in the middle on this one. I think he's a good enough talent to impact the game for ND. Whether that be on ST's (PR/KR) or on offense with 5-10 touches/game. With that said, I'd rather bring in a lot of guys we are still after. Including the recent DE (Chidi) that has setup an OV.

Valid points here. I'm not saying take Alloway over Robertson or McKinley if it came down to it. But I doubt it comes down to having to make that decision.
