Jan 1 | Fiesta Bowl vs Ohio State

Living in Canton, Ohio this could turn out to be a nightmare but this is the game I wanted. Fvck all these people! Playing Houston does nothing for the program but a win versus these fvcktards could propel us to a NC in '16.

I do relish the opportunity to beat OSU. Finishing the year with 11 wins and a Fiesta Bowl win over OSU would be a great springboard into next year and give us a lot of good vibes.

I know some of us (including myself partially) are shellshocked by the beat downs we've received in big games but, you can't become an elite program by winning the Music City Bowl every year.

Per BK, Sounds like prosise, jarron jones and durham smyth will be back. Russell probably won't be back.

Per me, this would be a hell of a way for jaylon's career to end. A bowl win over OSU which was his brother's school and second choice behind nd

Though the odds...right? Notre Dame's identity has been nailing teams who were favored...its time to embrace the identity, and go live up to it.

If there is anyone I would want to beat besides Saban, its Urbie. I gotta believe BK sees it the same way.

The questions for me will be...

will the offensive line play angry, will the defense eliminate the stupid mistakes, and play to their potential, will the veterans play with composure and make the plays they are given.

If all are yes, I like ND's chances.

As an OSU alum and Columbus resident, this was the game I was hoping to avoid. No sports talk radio for a month, OSU fans' hatred for ND rivals their hatred for Michigan.

Sorry if this is already covered but what sections are reserved for ND? Trying to buy tickets for friends on the Fiesta Bowl site and it does not indicate, only what is held for both teams.

Anyone?

Sagarin's current Predicator Model makes OSU a 4 point favorite over ND on a neutral site.

My initial key to this game is for the Irish to stop the run and make the QB throw the ball. Pretty obvious... but it's that simple. On offense, the Irish OL has to win their individual battles. If that happens, it forces the Buckeye defense to commit another defender for pressure, creating at least one man to man match up on the outside. I would take that all day long. And... find a TE that can catch the ball in the seam. It has to be open.

Smythe will be back for this game.

I believe the key is to stop the run and don't turn the ball over......at all

Excited and scared for this game at the same time. Excited because if we win and finish the year at 11-2, we have a Top 10 win in November/December/January for maybe the 2nd time in the past decade, it catapults recruiting and next year's preseason rankings. It's a sexy match-up as we all agreed Houston was a no-win situation, Florida State or Iowa were my preferences because i thought they were more winnable games, but at least i can get stoked for a bowl game.

What scares me is that Urban Meyer has almost 4 weeks to watch tape of us and plan. He's going to study Joe Schmidt and his deficiencies and try to exploit them. I hope Joe is ready for the game of his life.

I assume Prosise and Onwalu return for this game? Will Jarron Jones play some snaps? Any other injured player who missed the Stanford game who might return?

I think the key will be red zone D, especially against the run. OSU will move the ball with ease between the 20's, but I've watched most OSU games this year and they DO NOT have elite athletes at TE or WR. Their pass- catchers are surprisingly average. Holding them to FG's inside the 20 and committing ZERO turnovers = we win.

I think cj will need every but of two maybe three more weeks before he's ready to even practice. Those high ankle sprained are no joke. Hopefully he's healthy and the o line is ready to go

Jan 1 | Fiesta Bowl vs Ohio State

31-27 Irish.

It's not a terrible matchup. Our strength on D matches their strength on O. If they had a bunch of deep threats and proven to be able to beat teams deep then I'd be worried. I also think our OL neutralizes their strength on the DL. Should be a heck of a game. A key turnover could likely be the difference.

Edit: I've also watched a lot of their games and without looking at stats, they seemed to struggle against mobile qb's who spread them out. I remember IU, Maryland, and even VT before the qb injury was able to move the ball well. Against LSU last year we decided to line it up and run at them. I think the success this year will be spreading the osu defense out. They really haven't faced a group of skilled players/qb like ND has this year.

J. Jones coming back is huge. More talented bodies means we won't wear down as much in 2nd half.

I don't think there is any way that McGlinchey is going to handle Joey Bosa on his own. What I would like to see added to the offense, is the back getting a chip on Bosa, then releasing upfield while the receivers run the DBs deep. Get 15-20 yards a pop with relative ease. Potential huge play with a broken/missed tackle.

Exactly the matchup I was hoping for. I live in a snake pit of these hillbilly fucks, nothing would be more satisfying than punching Osu in the mouth. I'll never forget the beatings I took in middle school after the 06 fiesta bowl from a bunch of bandwagon Osu fans. Stanley is going to show bosa what a top 5 pick really looks like.
